Walker Tracker hits one billion steps tracked

As Lao-Tzu said, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” So began the journey for Walker Tracker, a Portland-based community site for pedometer fans to log and track their steps.

One billion steps later, that journey continues.

To see how that total number of steps breaks down into the people who have taken them, try starting at the Walker Tracker Hall of Fame.

SplashCast hits one million. Walker Tracker hits one billion. Do I hear one trillion? Anyone? Anyone?

Hey Rick - Thanks for the mention!
I’m becoming a big fan of Silicon Florist - it’s great to keep track of what’s happening in the neighborhood. Keep up the good reporting.

Wow, I didn’t know there was another Portland-based step-counting Web site out there. I use Trainster, whose “Million Step Summer” — challenging each member to 1,000,000 steps in three months. Collectively, Trainster members logged over 400,000,000 steps just in those three months. Between the two sites, that’s a whole lot of walking in this town!

What do you have to say about all of this?
