@jmartens: To be included on a Twitalyzer geography list, like any other Twitter tool looking at geography, the Twitter user needs to have reference to the geography in their Twitter location. So, fer instance, if your friend is missing from the list and she a Twitalyzer influence score that would place her on the list for Portland … what does her Twitter location say? Yours says “Portland” but if hers says “Rose City” or “PDX” well we can’t match her to the geography.

Does that make sense?

Not that I’m saying people should change their Twitter “location” entry to reflect reality … but if they want to make these lists they’ll have to do that. IMHO dumb to do something you don’t want to just to be on a list ;-)

How do you create a new list based on different topics, e.g., Portland and marketing or Portland and media.

I don’t buy it. Number 100 has 130+ followers and is following ~100, and only 1,500 updates.

On top of that, the number of people missing from the list but would expect to be on it is staggering.

Last year’s list looks just as interesting as this year’s, when the infamous PDX Tech Event Singularity manifested in full form every Wednesday.

And we managed to lure last year’s Twitter #1, Hajime Kobayashi, out to Jive Software to talk at Refresh Portland :)
