Portland gets to beta test another Google service first: Google Offers launches in Portland at Floyd’s
We in Portland like to think we're pretty techie. Well apparently our friends down at Google---or over at Google if you consider The Dalles---like to think we're pretty techie too. I mean, they do pick us to test drive stuff like Google Hotpot. And now they've chosen Portland to be the first spot to try their Groupon killer, Google Offers.
Our first Google Offer will be from beloved local java shop Floyd’s Coffee. Husband-and-wife team Jack Inglis and Cris Chapman opened Floyd’s seven years ago, offering up espresso, coffee, breakfast burritos and more. They now have two convenient locations—one cozy, brick-lined shop in Old Town and another Stumptown watering-hole in Buckman.
With Google Offers, we’re working with great local businesses like Floyd’s Coffee, Le Bistro Montage, Powell’s Books and Ground Kontrol Classic Arcade to help them reach more Portlanders. We hope to bring Google Offers to other cities soon, with New York City and the San Francisco Bay area as our next stops.
Need more details? Mike Rogoway has a nice write up, including chatting with Floyd's owner Jack Inglis, who took time out from Stumptown Coffee rumor control to chat about tomorrow's offer. [HTML3] Want to sign up for deals? Visit Google Offers.

I was standing in line at Floyd’s at 11:30 this morning behind two people who were both redeeming that offer! The first one was using her iPhone so I thought maybe I had just missed a Groupon, but the guy behind her had gone old school and had the deal printed out in his back pocket, with the Google Deals logo clearly visible.

I was thinking DAMN, I thought I got in on Google Deals the first day, but obviously not. I wondered if it was a beta but now I see that it was clearly not.

Oh, well, Karam Lebanese food WILL BE MINE.

Typo: I meant to type “beta beta,”not just “beta.”

I signed up for Google Offers. Already I got an offer for a spray-on tanning parlor. Doesn’t Google realize we don’t tan here, we *rust*?

Undeniably consider that which you stated. Your favourite reason seemed to be at the internet the easiest factor to take note of. I say to you, I definitely get irked at the same time as people think about worries that they just do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the entire thing with no need side-effects , people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks

  5. We’ve study a number of perfectly material the following. Certainly worthy of book-marking regarding revisiting. I wonder what sort of ton attempt you add to generate this kind of great educational web page.
