Pitch over a (free) pitcher: Portland Seed Fund hosts last minute pitch sessions with TiE Oregon and Beer and Blog Portland

So you’ve been flirting with the idea of applying to the Portland Seed Fund. You know, to get some much needed cash and guidance for your startup idea. To get it off the ground. And to, hopefully, take the initial step toward finding more cash from customers and investors.

But, I hear you. It’s intimidating. And you’re not quite sure you’ve got your pitch dialed in.

Well rejoice in your procrastination. Because the Portland Seed Fund folks are giving you two opportunities to pitch them face to face and work out the kinks in your application.

Tonight (Thursday) from 6-8:30 PM, PSF and TiE Oregon are combining forces to host a pitch session.

TiE Oregon is offering attendees an opportunity to meet Portland Seed Fund managers Angela Jackson and Jim Huston. Join us to learn more about the fund and the capital and coaching process through which they will implement their investments. The event is open to both members and non-members.

You can attend this event even if you don’t plan to pitch. It would be a great learning opportunity for entrepreneurs, and an opportunity for investors to hear from new start-ups. Register Soon – Space is Limited to 40 attendees [and registration closes at 4PM].

Looking for something a little less formal? Or maybe something free? No worries. We aim to please.

Portland Seed Fund is also hosting Beer and Blog Portland this week. That’s right! Lookie there.

The Portland Seed Fund seeks out exceptional entrepreneurs and offers them funding, mentoring and advising with the goal of creating jobs, driving economic activity and promoting entrepreneurship in the region. And this Friday only, they’ll buy a beer or other beverage of your choice for anyone who pitches an idea.

What’s that mean? Well, it means that if you’ve got enough guts to pitch the PSF team, your bravery will be rewarded. Read: Free beer.

Who knows? If you’re a good pitcher, you might even get a free pitcher. Get it? Pitcher? Pitcher? Hello? Tap tap tap. Is this thing on?

Anyway. Beer and Blog happens, as always, at the Green Dragon. Starting around 4 PM on Friday. Everyone is welcome. But if you’re interested in drinking for free, you’re going to have to register to pitch.

And no matter where you pitch the Portland Seed Fund folks, you’re still going to have to get your app submitted. By June 6. So get on that. Or if you just need more info, feel free to swing by Portland Seed Fund.

  14. Last night’s TiE/Seed Fund event was a really useful experience! Aaron and I were able to meet a lot of great people and get some great community support and feedback. It’s great to see this happening here in Portland. Great luck to the companies presenting at Beer and Blog tonight!

  15. That’s great news Lakshmi!

  16. Thanks for pitching our pitching event. It was spectacular with 15 brave entrepreneurs pitching away into the evening.

Does the beer happen before, during or after the pitch? 😉

  18. Turoczy, you make me laugh!
