Equals: You got your natural language in my equations. You got your equations in my natural language.

Equals: You got your natural language in my equations. You got your equations in my natural language.

I’ve always been appreciative of Portland entrepreneur Elia Freedman‘s thoughtful and deliberate approach to problems. So when he showed me an early prototype of his latest project a few months back, I couldn’t wait until he released it. Well, we’re almost there. Introducing Equals.

Equals is a mobile and web service that simplifies and improves the way we work with numbers. At its heart are two core concepts. First, working with numbers should be as easy as writing sentences. Equals seamlessly intermixes text, variables and equations, even making it possible to define variables as phrases. The second concept is that numbers should look good. With Equals there is no need to painstakingly copy numbers into another application to add style. Now, format right within Equals and share appropriately.

I’m really looking forward to seeing this app out in the wild.
