Veterans’ day: VetsInTech Portland aims to get more northwest local vets involved in technology

Veterans’ day: VetsInTech Portland aims to get more northwest local vets involved in technology

We need more development talent. It’s a common cry among the startup and tech scene, here and everywhere else. And because of that there are any number of creative solutions attacking this problem. One of the more promising pursuits is the effort to get our veterans more engaged in the tech scene, VetsInTech.

And now there’s a Portland chapter of the program starting up.

VetsinTech Portland will hold its very first in a series of meetups to support our returning Veterans. Our first meetup will host a panel of experts and veterans representing the 3 pillars of VetsinTech – Entrepreneurship, Employment, and Education for veterans who are currently in tech or interested in tech careers.

So if you’re a veteran or if you know a veteran, please encourage them to join their peers on Thursday, October 24 at 6PM for the launch. The meeting will be held at the Comcast regional office in Beaverton.
