Viagra Premature
Viagra premature, If you're looking to build cross platform mobile applications using something as straightforward as HTML and JavaScript, one of the best options is PhoneGap. What could be better than getting access to iPhone, iPad, Android, Palm, Symbian and Blackberry without having to recode your app.
And I know that HTML and JavaScript sounds straightforward, viagra premature. But what if you're a little wary of dangling your toe into the PhoneGap pond. Viagra premature, Well then, you might opt to get a little training as well. The PhoneGap folks will be in Portland on July 16 to do just that. And if you use the code "siliconflorist," they'll even knock 50 bucks off the registration fee, viagra premature.
Now, PhoneGap has been in town before. Viagra premature, And their session at Mobile Portland was extremely well received. But this is a great opportunity to get hands on training with their platform and their way of delivering one set of code to multiple handset platforms, including iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Symbian, and Palm.
Who should attend, viagra premature. Well, practically anyone who has a working knowledge of HTML and an interest in mobile apps should be able to get a great deal out the session. Viagra premature, The PhoneGap folks specifically recommend that Web and mobile developers, Web designers, and project managers give the training a spin---just to make sure they understand all the ins and outs of PhoneGap.
And trust me. You're going to learn a lot. Besides, you've got that itch to start building mobile apps right. I mean, how else are we going to keep Portland the de facto hub of mobile app development.
By the time you walk out of the training, you're going to know how to do everything from setting up your dev environment to creating amazing UI transitions with CSS to compiling your code for multiple platforms. And then we'll all be eagerly awaiting your native app---no matter what handset we choose to use.
Sound interesting. A full day of training runs $499. But, again, you can knock $50 of that by using the "siliconflorist" discount code. For more information or to register, visit the Eventbrite page on Portland's July 16 PhoneGap training.

Uk Deals Cheap Sildenafil Citrate
Uk deals cheap sildenafil citrate, So, you've heard of Beer and Blog, right. The weekly geek gathering that has become the de facto happy hour for the blogging and startup scene in Portland.
So have a lot of other folks, uk deals cheap sildenafil citrate. And that's why, when people are visiting from out of town, they often try to stay over Friday night, so that they can get a chance to meet some of the folks from Portland. Uk deals cheap sildenafil citrate, And what's more. We try to woo them to Portland. It's happened before, uk deals cheap sildenafil citrate. And there's the chance that it could happen again this week, as the folks from Involver swing by Beer and Blog to kick Portland's proverbial tires.
Uk deals cheap sildenafil citrate, If you don’t know them, Involver is the leading creator of custom tabs and apps on Facebook. No, they don’t make Farmville type stuff. *Other* people use their services to make their own tabs and apps, uk deals cheap sildenafil citrate. And, business is booming for them. Uk deals cheap sildenafil citrate, So much so, that they are expanding their offices and are scouting out Portland as a potential location. I told them we had a seriously under utilized pool of developer talent here and they want to see for themselves. Help us roll out the red carpet for these out of town potential employers so they have no choice but to open up shop somewhere in PDX.
I know, right. Don't make me start claiming that Portland is in danger of becoming the de facto hub of Facebook tabs and apps.
And if you need a gig---or are looking for a new gig---you're going to want to swing by. Because Involver is in the market for a number of different positions. And if they find enough cool folks here in Portland, that may make their decision that much easier. So if you've got Rails experience, MySQL chops, design expertise, or interface fu, it would be great to see you.
Can't make it to Beer and Blog this Friday. No worries
So you're booked on Friday but you're still hoping to catch up with a few of the Beer and Blog faithful. Well you're in luck. Because there's a Beer and Blog tweetup on Thursday this week. What's more, it includes soccer.
That's right. Head on over to PGE Park for the Beer and Blog / Timbers Army tweetup.
As successfully executed last season, a Beer-and-Blog tweetup at a Portland Timbers match. The team is moving up to MLS next season, and the crowds are immense and rowdy and fun. Meet before the match for a beer at the Bitter End Pub or Cheerful Bullpen Tavern, then buy a general admission ticket at the gate and make your way to the North End of the stadium, where the Timbers Army reigns. (A good meetup spot is in the bleachers ABOVE the Army.) Afterparty = Koi Fusion/Spudnik carts at NW 20th and Burnside, then the Bitter End Pub. See you there!
So there you go. Two opportunities to experience the magic that is Beer and Blog. Lucky you.
For more information on the Timbers tweetup, see Calagator. For more on the regularly scheduled event, see Involver visits Beer and Blog.

Wholesale Tadalafil
Wholesale tadalafil, [HTML2]Well, well, well. Seems like today is an Ignite Portland day in more ways than one.
And it also seems that "can't get funded in Portland" argument continues to spring leaks in 2010, wholesale tadalafil. First, Urban Airship found funding. And now Portland-based ShopIgniter---an open source ecommerce platform that's betting on social media as the next big retail venue---has secured $3 million in venture capital led by Madrona Venture Group Wholesale tadalafil, . What's more, it says just as much that former Yahoo. Matt Compton of Madrona was so impressed, he's decided to join ShopIgniter as the new CEO, wholesale tadalafil.
I kind of want to work a Victor Kiam quote in here, but it's probably not worth it. Wholesale tadalafil, Anyway...
Mike Rogoway has a great write-up on ShopIgniter, hinting at the socially focused aspects of the service:
“We think we’re really going to shake up the online retail market,” Compton said.
ShopIgniter helps retailers track prospective customers on Twitter and Facebook and offer them targeted discounts pegged to their social media portfolios.
“We can bring retail right into Facebook,” Compton said. “We really believe the social Web is the next (retail) channel.”
And they're willing to admit---like the early adoption of the Web by retailers---that that may not be easy, as ShopIgniter told John Cook at TechFlash, wholesale tadalafil.
"The thesis we are looking at is that e-commerce is one of the growing areas in technology, but it is all run on these home-grown systems," said Compton.
Of course, getting retailers off those home-grown systems could be a chore. Wholesale tadalafil, But Compton said that most retailers "want to be retailers" and don't want to mess with software development. Part of the ShopIgniter offering includes deep integration with social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, allowing retailers to tap those communities in order to drive more sales.
Yes, but what is it, exactly. Well, I'm glad you asked. Here's how the folks at ShopIgniter describe it.
The ShopIgniter solution is a fully extensible ecommerce platform built on CodeIgniter, a web application framework with a community of over 115,000 developers. The platform serves sellers of all sizes and was built with system integration and front-end customization in mind. “Retailers, product brands and their interactive agencies need to be able to design custom store fronts but do not want the maintenance hassle or expense of hosting and building high-performance ecommerce functionality. We provide that flexibility and still deliver all the benefits of a SaaS solution,” said CTO and co-founder, Dan Warner. “We also encourage developers to leverage the ShopIgniter module architecture to extend functionality, build integration points and continue to innovate for their ecommerce clients.”
Better. Good.
Now suffice it to say, this is good news. And for the Portland startup community, this win holds significance on a number of levels.
First, as I hinted at above, it's funding. Funding is good. And demonstrating that Portland is capable of creating startups that are both interesting and fundable is a huge win for all of us. The rising water floats all boats and whatnot.
Second, it's another Portland play that embraces the world of social media---and makes it business worthy. Like Jive Software, Second Porch, and Webtrends, ShopIgniter is at the forefront of making the social network the next bastion of business. And that, dare I say, seems to be a growing trend around here. Don't make me start waxing "de facto hub" already.
Third, this is a major win for Portland Ten---the startup bootcamp project run by Carolynn Duncan designed to create more viable Portland startups---in which ShopIgniter was a participant. Not a bad success story for the old alumni newsletter, there.
Congratulations to another Portland startup proving its worth to the investment community. It will be interesting to see how they began to invest that capital---some initial plans call for increased promotions and staffing---to fuel their continued growth.
For more information, visit ShopIgniter.

Tadalafil Effects On The Penis
Tadalafil effects on the penis, [HTML2]Now, I'll be the first to admit that Portland. The town seems to like the whole iPhone thing. I mean, we've got iPhone users, incredibly popular iPhone app developers, and iPhone infrastructure plays that send out millions of messages, tadalafil effects on the penis. I might dare say that Portland is the de facto hub for iPhone development. Tadalafil effects on the penis, (Because I say those kinds of things all of the time.)
But now, the City of Portland is getting into the game with its own iPhone app. That's right. Citizen Reports will now let any iPhone user file reports to the City of Portland---all from the comfort of his or her multitouch screen, tadalafil effects on the penis.
Using their iPhone, citizens can select the type of issue to report, take a photo, geo-locate the issue via GPS or map, add comments, and send their report directly to the appropriate bureau for resolution. Tadalafil effects on the penis, Once submitted, citizens will receive updates directly to their iPhone regarding the status of their issue(s).
[HTML1]Not only is this a great example of the City embracing technology to open channels for collaborating with its community---it's also an example of inter-departmental collaboration, as well. Because building the app meant getting cooperation from the Bureau of Technology Services, Portland Bureau of Transportation, Portland Parks and Recreation and the Office of Neighborhood Involvement.
What's more, it's all in line with the City of Portland's pursuit of being more open with its data, tadalafil effects on the penis. And allowing users to interact more efficiently with the data it does have. Tadalafil effects on the penis, Citizen Reports is free. And it's currently available in the App Store. Once folks start using it, the City will entertain ideas for additional services and other mobile platforms, tadalafil effects on the penis. So it's up to all of you iPhone users to set a good example and push the City forward. Tadalafil effects on the penis, So that our Android and Blackberry friends get some similar functionality.
For more information, read the description of Citizen Reports on the City of Portland's site. To try the app for yourself, download City of Portland Citizen Reports on iTunes.

Make Your Own Sildenafil Citrate
Make your own sildenafil citrate, Last year, when Sequoia Capital pumped another $12 million into Jive Software's war chest, one of the first questions out of everyone's mouth was: What are they going to do with all of that money.
Were they going to hire. Build out, make your own sildenafil citrate. Acquire. Make your own sildenafil citrate, Well, apparently they were planning to do a little bit of all of those things. Jive has a bunch of job openings, they've been growing---and outgrowing---an office in the valley, and now, they've started to pick up some other valuable pieces to their puzzle with today's news that Jive had acquired social media monitoring company Filtrbox.
It's an interesting move for Jive, dipping its toe in the water of analysis, make your own sildenafil citrate. It's immediate---and most obvious---benefit is being able to monitor conversations happening outside the enterprise. Make your own sildenafil citrate, But it also holds the potential to be turned inwardly---analyzing the use of Jive, itself, which is---for all intents and purposes---social media. And that would be a smart move for a burgeoning company looking to demonstrate and defend the value of their suite of tools. By giving their customers the means to better assess how Jive is being used within the enterprise, make your own sildenafil citrate. Which, in turn, gives them better data on what's missing, what's broken, and what's working. Make your own sildenafil citrate, So I'm thinking this is a pretty shrewd move. And I'm also thinking what with Webtrends, Iterasi, Clicky, Twitalyzer, Jive and likely some others I'm spacing, Portland may just be gunning to become the---wait for it---de facto hub of social media monitoring.
But that's just me. How did the social media react to the news. Let's take a look.
Silicon Forest: Jive Software buys social media monitoring company Filtrbox
Jive's software uses social media tools to encourage collaboration within a business, and between a company and its customers. The downtown Portland company said it plans to integrate Filtrbox's technology into Jive's products to give users access to better information about the social media environment.
ReadWriteWeb: Jive Software Buys Filtrbox: A Purchase All About The Social Web
Jive looked at several companies in the space before deciding to approach Filtrbox. The choice came down to the Filtrbox user experience; its collaboration features; the scalable architecture and the social intelligence baked into the product.
TechCrunch: Jive Software Acquires Social Media Monitoring Startup Filtrbox
Both tech giants and startups are competing to provide enterprise-friendly, social platforms to businesses that combine both collaboration and social media monitoring. Socialtext and CubeTree offer compelling social collaboration offerings to the enterprise. And Salesforce.com recently entered the market with a new, more social version of its Service Cloud, and also debuted its take on a social platform for the enterprise, Chatter. Now Jive Software, a Sequoia-backed company that develops an all-in-one social enterprise software is acquiring Filtrbox, a startup that provides tools for social media monitoring, to boost its offering. You may remember Filtrbox as a Class of 2007 alum of incubator TechStars.
PaidContent: Jive Software Buys Social Media Researcher Filtrbox
In outlining the reasons for its acquisition, Portland, OR-based Jive says it wants to build its business around monitoring social media conversations to give businesses a better sense of how their brands are perceived across sites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. By applying Filtrbox’s offerings to its own monitoring software, Jive will craft direct marketing campaigns through those sites and try to alert clients when users’ complaints rise.
PE Hub: Jive Software Buys Filtrbox
Because of their complexity and cost, SMM tools have been confined to a handful of power-users within an organization. Given the increasingly strategic role social web conversations are playing in product development, customer service and support, a broader set of users want and need easy, cost-effective access to social intelligence.
Those are the leading stories for now. But I'll keep monitoring to see what else turns up.
For more information, see Jive's information on Filtrbox and the acquisition.

Buy Cialis Without A Prescription
Buy cialis without a prescription, It's always a good day when a Portland-area startup gets funding. And by that reasoning, today was a very good day. Portland-based JanRain---a company that started as an OpenID play and has since morphed into the way to simplify distributed Web logins across the board---announced that they had closed Series A financing to the tune $3.25 million, buy cialis without a prescription. The round was led by DFJ Frontier. Especially considering this round has been rumored to be in the works since this summer Buy cialis without a prescription, .
So how did the market react. Well, there was quite a bit of coverage, so let's take a look, buy cialis without a prescription.
Buy cialis without a prescription, TechCrunch: Can OpenID Be Commercialized. Investors Bet $3.25 Million On JanRain
JanRain is really one of the only horses in this race, but the adoption of OpenID hasn’t exactly been stellar so far. Investors are now betting millions on the assumption that the Portland, Oregon company, founded in 2005, has what it takes to effectively mass market and sell authentication systems to website publishers based on OpenID and other online identity technologies.
The Oregonian: JanRain lands venture round, plans hiring and a move downtown
Up 'til now, JanRain's been sustained by some early angel investment and revenue from services it provided within the OpenID community, buy cialis without a prescription. Now, it's targeting a broader market.
JanRain Lands $3.25M, Looks to Expand Web Identity Offerings, Push Social Publishing
First-round venture investments in software companies have been few and far between in the Northwest, especially in Portland. Buy cialis without a prescription, The money should help JanRain expand its efforts in online identity technologies, and will allow it to make new hires in sales, marketing, engineering, and customer support. The company, which has been supported by angel investors to date, currently has 12 employees.
ID startup JanRain raises $3.25M
One of the most vexing problems on the Internet remains the challenge of trying to remember passwords every time you visit a new Web site. JanRain is hoping it has the technological solution to help computer users overcome that challenge. And the Portland company -- which has been developing online identity technologies for the past four years -- has just scored $3.25 million in fresh capital to push the idea forward.
JanRain Raises $3.25 Million For Online Identity Technology
JanRain’s product is deployed by companies, including Sears, Tribune Interactive, FOX News, and EMI Music, so that visitors can sign in to those sites using the accounts they already have at other websites, such as Facebook, Yahoo, or MySpace. Users can also share their activities on multiple social networks.
Interview with Brian Kissel, JanRain
Today, Portland-based JanRain (www.janrain.com) announced it has raised $3.25M in a Series A funding round from DFJ Frontier, RPM Ventures, and Anthem Venture Partners. We caught up with the firm's CEO, Brian Kissel, to hear more about the firm and the funding.
No doubt---as you'll discover from reading the posts above---one of the keys to JanRain lining up this capital was finding a new way to position the service they were offering. Moving away from being an "OpenID company" to become a company that had the capabilities to help with any sort of distributed identity system. And to allow anyone to easily implement that system.
That said, I'm still calling Portland the de facto hub of OpenID.
It's great to see a Portland company getting attention from some of the bigs. And I can't wait to see how they invest this new capital as they continue their pursuits with RPX.
For more information, visit JanRain or read JanRain's blog post on the funding.

What Is Better Than Viagra
With OHSU What is better than viagra, , Portland has a great deal of prominence in the world of health care. And with open source, Portland has some street cred with the techie types. But events that get the health care and open source tech types intermingling, what is better than viagra. Not so much. What is better than viagra, But all that changes on November 19 and 20, when Portland, OSU Open Source Labs, and PSU play host to the CONNECT Code-a-thon, a open source hacking session for health care tech types.
What's CONNECT you ask. Well, it's an effort by the US government to enable its health care technology systems to share data with one another over a national network, what is better than viagra. So if you start sneezing in Topeka, a doctor there can access your medical records here.
What is better than viagra, CONNECT is an open source software solution that lets health IT systems and health information exchanges securely communicate with each other using nationally-recognized standards and guidelines. By using CONNECT, information can be easily shared among IT systems at doctor’s offices, federal agencies, state agencies, disability organizations, pharmacies, payors and other health stakeholders, making it possible for information to follow patients. CONNECT enables health information exchange within an organization, regionally, and at the national level using the Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN) conventions and standards.
A good gateway is one thing, what is better than viagra. But getting systems to hook into---and take advantage of---that gateway is entirely another. And that's what the CONNECT Code-a-thon What is better than viagra, hopes to facilitate: helping folks figure out how to hook into CONNECT.
The event will be a hands-on working session where attendees will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with other organizations implementing CONNECT as well as the development team from the CONNECT program. We will be listing topics on the forum and encourage discussions prior to the Code-A-Thon so we can get straight to the business of coding during the event.
In addition to being a great opportunity to further technology in the health care sector, landing this event marks yet another step forward for Portland and its recognition as an open source community, what is better than viagra. Dare I say that Portland is the de facto hub of open source. What is better than viagra, I dare.
The sold-out event (see below) will be held Thursday and Friday. If you're interested in more information, visit the CONNECT site or review the CONNECT Code-a-thon agenda.

Sildenafil Citrate Professional
Now I know I go on and on and on about all of the cool iPhone app development that happens around these parts Sildenafil citrate professional, . At times, I even go so far as claiming we're the de facto hub of that kind of stuff. But that's not the only iPhone work that's talking place around here, sildenafil citrate professional. I mean, someone has to provide the underlying infrastructure that makes all of this cool stuff work, right. Sildenafil citrate professional, Right. And that's what the folks at Portland-based Urban Airship are doing. Providing the plumbing that makes those little iPhone apps as cool as they can be, sildenafil citrate professional.
You see, with the launch of iPhone OS 3.0, applications got some new functionality---like push notifications which allow apps to send messages to and among users and update that little number badge and stuff. Sildenafil citrate professional, That's cool, right. Not so fast. Problem was, app developers had to have the code and infrastructure in place to make those things work, sildenafil citrate professional. And that, my friend, was a lot of work. Sildenafil citrate professional, That's where Urban Airship came into the picture. They built the infrastructure so that the independent app developers didn't have to do it. Now the iPhone app developers have the infrastructure they need without having to build and maintain it.
Well, turns out it's not only the small shops that appreciate their service. Some big folks are taking notice of what Urban Airship is doing, too. And as such, they've developed some new functionality to support messaging on a massive scale. Introducing Urban Airship Priority Push Service.
Do you want to send out a batch messages to an entire stadium of people and have them all look at their phones at once. With Urban Airship Priority Push Service, you can. Priority Push provides you with a dedicated messaging queue along with the hot-standby infrastructure to make sure that your messages get to your customers as quickly as possible. Like with any of our services, it’s milliseconds, not seconds, every time at every message volume.
To support the new feature, Urban Airship has rolled out a revised pricing model and enhanced infrastructure that allows larger entities to pay for messages in bulk, allowing them to "budget for growth and deal with unexpected bursts."
It's like the FedEx of push notifications.
All in all, this is good news for the young company who continues to rack up clients---and clearly is attracting the interest of larger clients, as well. And that smells like opportunity. In other words, while the company remains committed to helping the small and independent developers, that doesn't mean they can't help the bigger entities at the same time.
For more details and pricing, see Urban Airship Priority Push. For more information on the company, visit Urban Airship.

Generic Viagra Mexico
[HTML1]For all my crowing about Portland being the de facto hub of mobile development Generic viagra mexico, , I seem to cover primarily iPhone apps and maybe an Android app every once in a while. Inevitably, when those posts go live, a few people always ask, "Is there a BlackBerry version?"
And that leads me to wonder, is there. Are people in the Silicon Forest building BlackBerry apps, generic viagra mexico.
I'm not a Blackberry user, but I know quite a few people who are. Generic viagra mexico, And---basically in any town besides Portland---I run into a lot more BlackBerry users than iPhone or Android users.
That said, I don't know that I'm following the BlackBerry development space as closely as I could be.
I've written about some FreeRange's mobile work and GadgetTrak's mobile development, generic viagra mexico. And I know that CloudFour is doing mobile consultation for everything but iPhone. Generic viagra mexico, But that's about it.
Is there a ton of BlackBerry development going on in town. Are there a bunch of developers flying below the radar because there's no single app store or marketplace, generic viagra mexico. Or are the apps being built missing the attention they deserve because they're not on a platform that's currently enjoying media darling status. Generic viagra mexico, I don't know. But I'd love to hear more.
It would be great toround up some of the best and brightest BlackBerry apps that are products of the Silicon Forest, generic viagra mexico. It seems that if we're going to become the actual hub for mobile development, a more well rounded community---and better coverage of what the entire community is doing---would help. Generic viagra mexico, So if you've got some BlackBerry stuff going---or you're an iPhone or Android developer considering porting your app to BlackBerry---please let me know by dropping me an email at siliconflorist at gmail dot com. Or by filling out the tips form.
I'm looking forward to hearing about all the cool BlackBerry development going on around here.

Buy Cheap Generic Viagra
Buy cheap generic viagra, A few weeks back, Portland's Marshall Kirkpatrick, VP of Content for ReadWriteWeb, found a missive in the OpenID group from Google's Eric Sachs. The half-composed message appeared to have been posted to the public list by mistake, but it still carried some very interesting tidbits about future OpenID developments with Google.
The most interesting part of that post to me, buy cheap generic viagra. Sachs recommended using Portland-based JanRain's RPX solution for OpenID Buy cheap generic viagra, . Today, JanRain and Google revealed the rest of the story.
With recent updates from Google, we are excited to extend our RPX services beyond the consumer web to offer easy sign-in to the millions of businesses, schools, and other organizations using Google Apps For Domains, buy cheap generic viagra. Google now lets each of its customers enable OpenID provider support for their domain, which then makes it possible for members to sign-in to OpenID enabled websites using an OpenID from their own domain.
Stepping back. Buy cheap generic viagra, If you're not a regular reader of Silicon Florist, you may be wonder, "What's OpenID mumbo jumbo you're spouting?"
Well, OpenID is a technology that allows you to use a single username and password across a variety of Web sites. And it can also carry with it certain information about you. Why is that important, buy cheap generic viagra. Well, it means instead of having to create a new account, new username, and new password for every single site you visit on the Web, you can use one. Buy cheap generic viagra, So now that you know about OpenID, why is this JanRain-Google announcement a big deal. Well, first off, it becomes the an incredibly simple way for any company, anywhere to establish an OpenID based on its specific domain. Second, this means that more than 1,000,000 companies will now be OpenID enabled. Third, selfishly, this makes me look like I might have known what I was talking about when I kept calling Portland the "de facto hub for OpenID development."
But perhaps the most interesting is what this announcement portends for Google services in general. You see, Google---while being a huge OpenID proponent---hasn't yet figured out how to implement OpenID logins for their most popular offerings like Gmail and Reader---in effect converting your whatever@gmail.com account to an OpenID---without completely scrambling those offerings.
Don't believe me. Listen to Eric Sachs describe the problem on Social Web TV.
[HTML1]
However, now that they've teamed up with JanRain and are figuring out some OpenID related issues with Google Apps for Domains, it leads me to wonder: Could an OpenID login for Google's other services be far off.
We'll just have to wait and see. But something tells me, if OpenID for Google proper is in the works, JanRain will have something to do with it.
(Hat tip Aaron Hockley).

Is Viagra Legal
[HTML2]There are usually three things for which I like to claim that Portland serves as the "de facto hub Is viagra legal, ": open source, OpenID, and mobile.
And tonight, two of those worlds collide---open source and mobile---thanks to Mobile Portland and Moblin, an open source project for mobile development hosted by the Linux Foundation. And it's not just for phones, is viagra legal. It's for netbooks, as well. Is viagra legal, Sound interesting. Well, you're going to want to mosey on over to AboutUs for Mobile Portland, tonight at 6 PM.
What is Moblin attempting to accomplish, is viagra legal.
Moblin is an optimized Linux platform that provides a modern, engaging user experience for mobile devices, such as netbooks, MIDs, and IVI systems. Is viagra legal, Moblin has a common core of Application and User Interface services and APIs, which provide application developers a rich and consistent development environment across multiple device form factors.
Not only does the combined open source and mobile focus make it Portland-y, it's got another Silicon Forest tie-in: Intel. You see, the folks leading up the project are part of the Intel Open Source Technology Center:
Bob Spencer [of Portland] works at the Open Source Technology Center (OSTC) at Intel as a software developer. He is focused on working with the Linux Foundation developing the compliance specs for Moblin.[HTML1]Mike Shaver [of Portland] also works at the OSTC and is focused on building out the web infrastructure and community for Moblin.[HTML1]
Paul Cooper is located at the London office of OSTC and manages a team of Moblin developers working on the user experience functionality.

Cheap Tadalafil Uk
Cheap tadalafil uk, [HTML1]Admittedly, we in the Portland Web, Mobile, blogging, and startup scene are a bit of a nomadic bunch. Whether finding some place to camp out in between meetings or hunkering down to crank out code for hours on end, folks around these parts are always looking for a good spot to work---preferably with an infusion of caffeine nearby. And sometimes, it's nice to have some peers around for bouncing ideas or simply just a little company, cheap tadalafil uk.
So where are the best places in Portland to cowork with coffee, wifi, and cohorts. Cheap tadalafil uk, Here are ten choices for your coffee shop coworking pleasure, with a couple of bonus suggestions of up and coming spots.
Albina Press
Always great coffee with always comfy couches in the front and back, Albina Press is a favorite haunt of many a North Portland and Mississippi Ave tech type. Did I mention the coffee, cheap tadalafil uk. Whoof. Cheap tadalafil uk, If you're looking for a hard-to-find-a-seat bustling atmosphere with plenty of folks moving through it, Albina Press is the perfect place to spend a few hours. Or you could always hang at the window-facing bar and keep one eye on the passers-by.
But don't just take my word for it, cheap tadalafil uk. Here's what Portland Food and Drink has to say about Albina Press:
The interior is rather unremarkable, pretty much your typical laid-back coffeehouse. Cheap tadalafil uk, Still, it is a spacious place to while away a rainy afternoon with the paper. There’s a bar area next to the windows so you can stare out on a rainy day and contemplate life. Plenty of regular tables are scattered around, and there are two areas with soft couches to dive into. Free Wi-Fi is available, with a surprising number of electrical outlets to plug in your laptop if need be. The mix of customers runs the gamut, from neighborhood regulars to coffee geeks who come from a distance. College students make up the bulk of the crowd; still anyone can feel comfortable here.
See who has shouted from Albina Press lately on Shizzow. Or see what WifiPDX has to say about Albina Press.
Ava Roasteria
Now stop. I can hear you already. "Beaverton is not Portland." But give me a sec, would you. Jeez.
Ava Roasteria makes the list for a number of reasons. First, it's open 24-hours-a-day. That's right. Just like in the dotcom days. Second, it has blisteringly fast wifi. Third, it's huge.
Now, won't that help you overlook the facts that it's a little off the beaten path and that they have an all Flash Web site with music that you can't figure out how to mute.
There aren't many user reviews, but I thought Nathan E. Lewis summed up Ava Roasteria quite nicely.
If you are in Beaverton, check out Ava Roasteria, Beaverton’s new coffee house. It is beautiful. Free wireless, rich coffee, and perhaps, the new center of Beaverton, a great place to meet people. It also happens to be my new office. Come visit me and I will treat you to a cup. The owner, an Iranian woman, specializes in purchasing contaminated properties, transforming them into beautiful retail spaces.
See what WifiPDX has to say about Ava Roasteria. Or check out what input the Twitter types have about Ava Roasteria on iAte.
Bipartisan Cafe
The always bustling Bipartisan Cafe is a great place to hang out in deep Southeast Portland. Don't be intimidated by the crowd. Tables tend to turn over fairly quickly here. Or the bar is usually open. And the coffee is worth the wait.
Need more than coffee, wifi, and people. How about pie.
Bipartisan Cafe serves hand crafted coffee beverages made with world class, locally roasted Stumptown Coffee. We have a nice selection of black green or herbal teas from Tao of Tea. Our sandwiches are made to order on Grand Central Bakery bread and the soups are homemade from scratch. Our specialty is our pies—made from scratch like grandma used to make.
See what WifiPDX has to say about Bipartisan Cafe. Check out who has shouted from Bipartisan recently on Shizzow. Or find out who's tweeting about Bipartisan on iAte.
Backspace
Arguably the de facto hub of the Portland coffee shop coworking and startup scene, Backspace provides an expansive space, plenty of plugins, and enough wifi for hours and hours of work.
Suffice it to say, if you're looking to see a bunch of Twitter avatars walking around in real life, this Old Town coffee shop is the place to be. Given its locale and its accouterment, there are always five to ten people you'll recognize at Backspace. Guaranteed.
Backspace is the default place to go when you have nothing else to do. 25 computers for internet and a mass of video games. Huge 4000 sq ft. building to enjoy stumptown coffee and see incredible art. Pool tables, X-box room, and Board games galore. Open Late. 2am every night!
But don't just take locals' words for it. See what a tourist has to say about Backspace:
Lest you think Backspace is a restaurant, the coffee bar is just a small part of why we go there. This is part Internet-cafe, part club, part beatnik hangout, part art gallery, and 4000 square feet more of whatever band, show, or feature is hot in the Rose city.… Ground Kontrol classic arcade is around the corner, where you can still play the old games for a quarter. In short, this is just a nice play to "be".
iAte is surprisingly quiet about Backspace. Maybe because its just assumed that you're there. Or you can take a look at the Shizzow traffic through that joint.
James John Cafe
Much to my chagrin, James John Cafe is one of the few Portland coworking coffee shops I have yet to visit---but it comes highly recommended.
Don't believe me. Ask WifiPDX.
Great coffee, fantastic pastries. And Ken at the counter is a great guy. It's usually just busy enough to be interesting without being so busy that you can't find a table. Great place.
See who's hanging out in St. Johns via Shizzow. Or listen in on what the Twitter types are saying about James John via iAte.
Opposable Thumb
If you're in the Belmont area and you're a nomadic worker, you've not doubt spent some time at Opposable Thumb. The big bonus to the Thumb as opposed to the Stumptown further up the street. Space for one thing. Opposable Thumb has plenty of space to spread out. And usually some places you can hole yourself up to avoid the foot traffic.
Food is another plus. If you're going to be heads-down on a project for a few hours, tasty sustenance is well within reach.
In fact, marathon sessions at Opposable Thumb are a common occurrence.
The Opposable Thumb is a pretty delightful place to hang out and do work, especially if you’re a twenty-something hipster, like most people wandering around the 20’s and 30’s blocks of Belmont. To give you an idea of the amount of time you can spend here, I’ll mention that I once remained here for about eight hours without once going outside.
See who's using their opposable thumbs to shout via Shizzow. For details on the connectivity, see WifiPDX's info on Opposable Thumb.
Sip & Kranz
Since World Cup in the EcoTrust building closed, the next best "near Jamison Park" location for grabbing a cup of coffee and banging out a few lines of code has become Sip & Kranz. And now they've---somewhat sadly---torn out the kids area. But that just means that there's more room for the highly refined and mature activities of surfing the Web and making snarky comments on Twitter.
What's more, Neighborhood Notes gives Sip & Kranz rave reviews.
The service is great: there are ample (Pleasant!!!) folks on hand to help with coffee, pastries or juice. Sip & Kranz proudly serves and sells Stumptown Coffee-- the staff went through a lengthy training process to ensure that they meet the quality guidelines of "the holy grail" of coffee roasters. And it gets better... the pastries are from Nuvrei Fine Cakes & Pastries and there are glorious cupcakes from--where else-- Saint Cupcake (the patron saint of sweet!)...
See who has shouted from Sip & Kranz on Shizzow recently. Or check what the Twitter types are saying about Sip & Kranz on iAte. For comments on the connectivity, check out Sip & Kranz on WifiPDX.
Stumptown Downtown
Yes, it's loud. Yes, it's crowded. And yes, you have to carry that big damn duck to the restroom. But I'll be damned if Stumptown on SW 3rd doesn't have the finest con panna in town. And that rocket fuel combined with wifi is more than anyone needs to be a productive little worker.
And while I've singled out Stumptown Downtown, to be honest, they're all pretty good locations to work on whatever it is you need to get done. And the one at the Ace allows you to wander over to the big cushy lobby couches.
But let's get back to the location at hand. Now the most common complaint about the downtown location is the noise. Whether it be the crowd or the music that's always jacked up. But you know what. I actually think that's the big positive for this location. How can that be. Well, I'll tell you. You see, Stumptown Downtown is perfect for meetings. Because when you want to sit down and chat about your top-secret stealthy startup project you can be sure no one is eavesdropping. Because the people next to you can barely hear themselves think. Yay for aural obfuscation.
And honestly. You come here for the coffee. Don't believe me. Well, do you believe The New York Times.
But Mr. Sorenson and a few like-minded coffee hunters around the country will go almost anywhere, do almost anything and pay almost any price in pursuit of the perfect cup of coffee.… But it’s not a point he feels the need to argue stridently, because the proof — for anyone to taste — is in the cup.
Check out the Stumptown chatter on iAte. Or see who's been by Stumptown Downtown recently on Shizzow.
Urban Grind NE and Urban Grind NW
Whether you're in Northeast Portland or up in the Pearl, swinging by Urban Grind is sure to have you sidling up alongside someone from the Portland tech scene.
They've each got their pluses. NW tends to see more folks traipsing through, thanks to its location, and it's always easy to find an outlet. But NE has a ton of room. And more secluded areas to hide. Both of them have great connectivity and comfy seats for hours and hours of slaving away on your projects. And, at either location, the coffee and tea are good and the staff is knowledgeable. So you're set there.
Portland Octopus gives Urban Grind a thumbs up or maybe eight thumbs up. Suction cups. Whatever. They like it.
Urban Grind is living proof that getting your daily fix doesn’t have to involve paying above average prices for a below average experience. On the contrary, this place is a perfect example of a local business that has established a huge following by providing a great atmosphere to compliment amazing products.
Who winds up where. Well, here are the folks who frequent Urban Grind NE. And here are the folks who wind up at Urban Grind NW. For what it's worth, it appears that Urban Grind NW gets far more love on WifiPDX than Urban Grind NE.
Bonus: Up and coming coworking coffee shops?
Now, sometimes, you're looking for somewhere to work that's a little less coworking and maybe a little more isolated.
Invasion Cafe: Dawn Foster recommends Invasion, "New coffee shop called Invasion Cafe on 4th between Washington and Stark. Better than Stumptown to hang out."
Portland Coffee House: Don Park offers "portland coffee house on broadway, one block from pioneer square, is a decent work place."
Taborspace: Thanks to Chase Reeves for introducing me to Taborspace, yesterday. Great coffee. With a big wide open room lit by stained glass windows---it's in part of an old church---this nonprofit coworking coffee shop was an inspiration for this post.
Tiny's on MLK: I'm hearing more and more folks mention Tiny's as a place to get some work done. Great coffee. Comfy seats. And they've got food too.
More suggestions?
It's common knowledge that you can never build a list of recommendations without slighting someone's favorite spot. So, if I've left your favorite coworking coffee shop out of the mix---and you're interested in other folks starting to show up at your secret hideaway---feel free to add it to the comments.
But be forewarned. If you make a compelling argument, I'll be adding it to the list.

Viagra Prescriptions
While I like to wax on about Portland being the de facto hub of open source Viagra prescriptions, , truth of the matter is that---just to the south of us---there's a literal hub for open source: the Oregon State University Open Source Lab.
How much of a hub is it. Well so much so that Deb Bryant, Public Sector Communities Manager at the OSU OSL, has just been named to the Open Source for America steering committee, viagra prescriptions.
What exactly is Open Source for America. Aside from being a who's who of open source advocates Viagra prescriptions, , it has the hopes of changing the way government works with open source.
Open Source for America (OSA) is an effort to raise awareness in the U.S. Federal Government about the benefits of open source software, viagra prescriptions. We hope to encourage the government's utilization of open source software participation in open source software projects, and incorporation of open source community dynamics to enable transparency.
And those thought leaders will be needed. Viagra prescriptions, That's for sure. The entrenched lobbying parties will likely be none too happy to see others recommend that their economic interests be divested in favor of open source pursuits.
As Dana Oshiro at ReadWriteWeb writes:
Nevertheless, lobbying will be no easy feat as smaller open source companies will have to jockey for position against Microsoft during requests for proposals, viagra prescriptions. Furthermore, in the past government officials have expressed security concerns with open source code. Viagra prescriptions, Critics argue that exposed source code can be examined by attackers and therefore poses a risk. Nevertheless, another argument for exposed code can be made in ensuring security. By moving away from proprietary software models and giving free access to a system's source code, governments are no longer dependent on a select few contractors for their defense. Instead, an entire programming community can be deployed to defend against attacks.
Luckily for the OSA, this is oft-trodden ground for Bryant who has long been a leading proponent for government and open source. She's perhaps best known for being the driving force behind GOSCON, the premier government open source convention. But that's not all.
Deborah's interest in open source and its implication for government is reflected in her civic involvement; she serves as a Board Director for DemocracyLab.org; on the Board of Advisors for the Open Source Digital Voting Foundation; on the Oregon Statewide Distance Learning Advisory Council.
Congratulations to Deb on being named to Open Source for America. And here's looking forward to great things for both the government and open source, alike.
Tangentially, let's hope the City of Portland could take some cues from this effort in its bid to become and open source hub.
For more information, visit Open Source for America.

Generic Viagra In Canada
Generic viagra in canada, I hear you. "Oh boy. Here we go again with the 'Portland is the de facto hub of OpenID development' speech again."
Okay, generic viagra in canada. Okay. Generic viagra in canada, I'm sorry. But you have to admit that when a company like Google recommends using Portland-based JanRain for OpenID implementations that that just lends credence to my argument, doesn't it.
No, you heard me right, generic viagra in canada. Google, that little search engine company down in Mountain View, says that if you're looking for an out-of-the-box solution OpenID, you should be thinking about using JanRain RPX.
Generic viagra in canada, Prefer an out-of-the-box solution. We have been working with JanRain , a provider of OpenID solutions, which already support the new API as part of their RPX product . As demonstrated by UserVoice using JanRain's RPX , a user simply types in her Google Apps hosted domain name in the OpenID login box and everything else is being taken care of
And if that's not a vote of confidence, I don't know what is, generic viagra in canada.
So what brought about this admission. Generic viagra in canada, Well, Portland's most famous blogger, Marshall Kirkpatrick of ReadWriteWeb, happened upon an OpenID missive from Google's Eric Sachs that appears to have posted to a public discussion list accidentally.
"For these organizations," Google Security Product Manager, Eric Sachs, wrote on the public OpenID Board mailing list this morning, "Google Apps can now become an identity and data hub for multiple SaaS providers." Sachs appeared to believe his email was not being posted to a public board; he asked that it not be circulated so that some unusual technical work could be completed and political support shored up in the face of likely community and press cynicism. There's good reason for that - it may not be the good news it seems to be.
Of course, me being so Portland-centric, I immediately jumped to the JanRain news, generic viagra in canada. But the stuff that Marshall uncovers is well worth the read. So please head over to ReadWriteWeb to read his post Generic viagra in canada, , too.

Viagra Drug Interaction
Viagra drug interaction, [HTML2]If you haven't started to implement OpenID yet, you may be falling a bit behind the curve. You see, thanks to the efforts of Portland-based JanRain, even the good old---and I do mean old---brick and mortar companies like KMart and Sears are jumping on the OpenID bandwagon, viagra drug interaction. Or, as Mike Rogoway at The Oregonian's Silicon Forest blog put it, "Old economy stalwart Sears announced this morning that it's adopting OpenID."
That's big news for JanRain and for OpenID in general. And as the de facto hub for OpenID Viagra drug interaction, , it's big news for Portland, as well.
The Sears and KMart implementations are a combination of Chicago-based Viewpoints an JanRain RPX, a series of services that allows organizations to implement OpenID more quickly and easily.
Built on web 2.0 open standards including OpenID, OAuth, Portable Contacts, Activity Streams, and Microformats, and leveraging related technologies such as Facebook Connect, Sign in with Twitter, and MySpaceID, JanRain's RPX solution is able to deliver and sustain market leading functionality for its customers and partners, viagra drug interaction. This is a rapidly evolving space where identity providers, services, and technical protocols are expanding and improving daily. Viagra drug interaction, By partnering with the pioneer and leader in third party authentication and profile management solutions, Viewpoints can continue to deliver best of breed capabilities to its clients now and in the future.
Given that KMart and Sears have already implemented OpenID, maybe you should get around to doing that too, don't you think. It's the Portland---and Silicon Forest---thing to do.
For more information on the collaboration, read the joint release from Viewpoints and JanRain, viagra drug interaction. For more on the technology behind the solution, read about JanRain RPX or OpenID.

Buy Sildenafil Citrate Uk
Urban Airship Buy sildenafil citrate uk, wasn't the only exciting Portland-based iPhone news, today. Local iPhone development agency Small Society---with whom I apparently have a bit of a fanboi obsession---made it to the big stage at the Apple Worldwide Developer's Conference (WWDC) when Zipcar was asked to demo their upcoming iPhone app.
"Small Society is working closely with Zipcar to bring Zipcar for iPhone to market," said Raven Zachary at Small Society, buy sildenafil citrate uk. "We love our friends at Zipcar."
And apparently, so does everyone else. Buy sildenafil citrate uk, Take a look at some of the highlights from today's coverage of the WWDC mentioning Zipcar.
CNET: WWDC 2009: Zipcar launches app for iPhone
"At Apple's WWDC in San Francisco, Luke Schneider of Zipcar shows off a new application for the iPhone. The new software enables Zipcar users to find and reserve the nearest available vehicle on a city map, buy sildenafil citrate uk. It also sports a feature that will beep the horn of the reserved Zipcar and unlock it when the user is close by."
[HTML3]
Jalopnik: Control Zipcar From Your iPhone
"Zipcar users with an iPhone will not only see locations and cars as little green pins and allow them to access information about the cars and make reservations. Buy sildenafil citrate uk, Better yet is a new feature that'll allow you to unlock the Zipcar from your phone rather than with the usual ZipCar ZipCard and even potentially control certain features of some cars, such as the horn, from the iPhone app."
ReadWriteWeb: Live from Apple's WWDC 2009: MacBook Updates, Snow Leopard, iPhone 3GS
"You thought that was the last demo and they would move on to the iPhone hardware. Nope. Next up, Zipcar (car sharing), buy sildenafil citrate uk. Uses iPhone OS 3.0 MapKit to embed Google maps. Unlock your car from the phone."
Sipy: Top 5 Products I Want to Buy After Seeing the Apple WWDC Keynote
Buy sildenafil citrate uk, "Zipcar app, coming this summer. OK, there’s no reason for me to want this. I own my own car. But how sweet is it that you can honk the horn and unlock the doors of a Zipcar using an app from your iPhone. I only hope they’ve thought the security through really, really well, because I would love to see this set an example for a world where your phone is your remote control for everything."Mashable: Top 6 iPhone 3.0 Apps to Watch
"Well, now Zipcar comes to the iPhone. You can use it to find ZipCar locations, reserve a vehicle, and coolest of all, you can unlock the car using the iPhone. It will beep when you press the horn button too. Why it’s an app to watch: Functionality like being able to unlock a car via the iPhone is simply impressive. This app could be the push Zipcar needs to expand its appeal and increase adoption."
Autobloggreen: Zipcar announces new iPhone app, gives new meaning to "unlocked" cell phone
"If you're not an Apple fanboy who's been hitting F5 repeatedly over on Engadget today, here's a green car tie-in from the big WWDC that's just wrapping up: your iPhone will soon be able to unlock the doors of your Zipcar rental vehicle. Yes, your phone can now tell your car what to do. It's only a matter of time before Dr. Horrible's remote control app becomes a reality."
Yet another impressive reception for Small Society's impressive work. And another proof point for my claim that Portland has the opportunity to become the de facto hub of iPhone and mobile development.

Get Tadalafil Drug Online
Get tadalafil drug online, As last week drew to a close, the Portland tech community was rallying to help the de facto hub of our community, CubeSpace.
The fervent out-welling of emotion and support continued throughout the weekend---even resulting in coverage from traditional mainstream media.
While there isn't a great to deal more to report at this point---and Eva and David are understandably choosing to remain silent until a decision has been made---I've been getting a number of emails, IMs, and tweets about the issue, get tadalafil drug online. So I thought I'd round up what I could.
Here's where we are so far:
Save CubeSpace and #savecubespace on Twitter
Update on the US Bank Situation: Life's Looking Up
Get tadalafil drug online, "Eva and I have not yet decided what we want to/need to do. There are a lot of issues for us to weigh. Prime among them is the outpouring of support we are feeling from all of you, get tadalafil drug online. We are humbled by the donations you all are making. Get tadalafil drug online, We are overwhelmed by the statements you are making telling us (and others) how much CubeSpace matters to you, and what a difference we've made in your lives over the past 2.5 years. "Eva Schweber of CubeSpace: The little engine that might
"Your unexpected, massive and much appreciated (there really are just not words to tell you how appreciated) response to what I had intended as a farewell post changed the game completely. Not only did US Bank feel the pressure to respond to our letter, but they did so with somewhat reasonable offers, get tadalafil drug online. We believe that you, our community, are the ones to thank because of this little paragraph they included in their response."
David Kominsky of CubeSpace: CubeSpace's saga
"This morning, we gathered with a small group of advisors, and we are in negotiations with US Bank. We will go radio silent about progress until these negotiations are concluded because we are legally bound to be quiet about them until they are concluded."
Tech entrepreneurs rally to save their hangout
Get tadalafil drug online, "CubeSpace was among the first when it opened in the fall of 2006, and built a following by hosting high-tech meetups and connecting with the tech community. It's got conference rooms, cubicles and Internet connections for entrepreneurs, freelancers and others who work alone -- but don't like to be by themselves."CubeSpace needs your help [Updated]
"Eva and David will be making decisions about CubeSpace’s future tomorrow in light of two offers that US Bank extended Friday afternoon, and Eva adds this: 'For those of you who have been hesitating to make a donation without more clarity from us, I understand and agree with your concern. We have not cashed any checks or deposited any cash pending our decision. If we decide CubeSpace will not make it, we will return all cash and destroy all checks.'"
CubeSpace: The importance of community
"[CubeSpace] didn’t create the Portland technology community, but they joined the community and became active participants. They gave generously to the community, and now the community wants to give back. This is the way strong communities respond when one of their own is in trouble. This isn’t the first time the community has bailed someone out of a tight spot; one of the best examples was the Bram Pitoyo bike fund when his bike was stolen last year. Eva and David are in trouble, and the community is pulling together to help. I think the past few days in particular speak to the strength of the Portland technology community."
Impromptu Digital, Twitter Barn Raising CubeSpace Benefit Party at Whiffies
"I was exchanging some direct messages this morning with Gregg aka @whiffies after my earlier CubeSpace post, and he... generously [offered] to do an old fashioned barn raising for CubeSpace [last Sunday] evening sometime around 11pm at the Whiffie’s pie cart on Hawthorne and 12th.
Save CubeSpace
"CubeSpace is also a benefactor to the community. They’ve frequently donated meeting space and services for groups in the tech community, have been willing to work with planners of free and low cost events, and have made special offers of free office space for newly laid-off workers (like those from Vidoop)."
Buy My Work From CubeSpace’s Walls
"100% of the sale price of these framed photos will go to CubeSpace. The 16×20s are available for $100; the 8×10s are $30. Drop by CubeSpace (hours are on their website) and walk out with a nice framed print while supporting a local business that gives back to the community in a giant way."
Help save CubeSpace
"Over the years, CubeSpace has become a cornerstone of our Portland technical community. Through their generous donations of time, space, services and resources, they’ve helped make the groups you belong and the events you go to possible. CubeSpace’s support of the WordPress community was key in making WordCamp Portland happen as well as the beginning of the WordPress User Group."
Where friends gather... please help!
"These are some of the people who make up the Portland/Vancouver tech geek community (all of them would freely admit on one level or another to being geeky).
"There is one common thing that each and every one of these people have in common with me. One single thing that brought me to have the privilege of knowing each one of them. That thing is… CubeSpace."
A self-described "non-update" on the current status of the CubeSpace situation.
The good news is that we are still in negotiations with US Bank. The bad news is that means we need to maintain our radio silence for a bit longer.
Mike Rogoway at The Oregonian continues to track the story, providing additional insight into the "Save CubeSpace" campaign and adding:
I'm mulling over an article on the subject for whenever this comes to a resolution. There's no shortage of social media experts in Portland who could add some valuable insight, and whatever comes out of this situation will be instructive for other businesses.
[UPDATE 5/29/2009]
The Portland Mercury's Blogtown PDX covers the CubeSpace story with the provocative headline "CubeSpace in court." But, unlike the title leads you to believe, there isn't any new news. Still it's interesting to see another take of the situation by traditional Portland media.
For three years, CubeSpace has been Portland’s reaction to the sterile environment of most offices — the “co-working” building rents shared office space to small businesses and nonprofits, selling the idea of a working within a supportive business community that helps cubicle-dwellers get through the day without wanting to gouge their eyes out with a number two pencil. But this week CubeSpace is wading through less friendly business negotiations: last week their landlord US Bank issued the group an eviction notice and court subpoena. CubeSpace had not paid rent since March.
What's next?
For now, we wait. As soon as I know, you'll know.
And if you've posted something that I missed, please link it up below and I'll add it to the list.

Does Generic Sildenafil Citrate Work
Does generic sildenafil citrate work, Well, this is the last thing I expected on this Frenetic Friday. But it seems that arguably the de facto hub of the Portland startup tech scene, CubeSpace, is unfortunately in dire straits.
While we're still not clear on the specifics dollar amounts involved in the situation, it is clear that the folks at CubeSpace are facing eviction, does generic sildenafil citrate work.
The very short story is this: Tuesday we were served with a subpoena from our landlord, US Bank, for court order to effectively evict us from our space for non-payment of rent since March. Does generic sildenafil citrate work, If a judge grants them this action, we will have no choice but to declare bankruptcy, both on behalf of CubeSpace, and almost certainly personally as well. Our court date is Wednesday, and there is a holiday weekend between, which shortens an already tight timeline. We continue to try to work out a solution which is amenable to US Bank and which is workable for us, does generic sildenafil citrate work. Based on our efforts to negotiate a solution over the past 10 months, US Bank has made it clear that they are not very interested in our survival.
Needless to say, the prospect of this cuts to the very heart of the our community. Does generic sildenafil citrate work, In my perspective, no one single organization has done more to facilitate the community.
Clearly US Bank taking the opportunity to serve these papers on the Friday before a three-day weekend smells as a little funny. And it seems that pulling this maneuver means that they have something planned for that space and are simply looking for the opportunity to booth the current residents, does generic sildenafil citrate work.
But regardless of that, the Portland tech community has reacted as expected. Slate Technologies has already started a "Save CubeSpace Does generic sildenafil citrate work, " site complete with donation button.
Our PDX has a post up---"CubeSpace needs your help"---and more to come:
Naturally, the tech community---even on the eve of a three-day holiday weekend---is rallying to the cause. Here’s information about two efforts that have emerged already.
Mike Rogoway at The Oregonian is following the story:
The twitterverse is abuzz this afternoon with word that CubeSpace, the popular Portland coworking and meetup space, is facing closure.
[UPDATE] And Mike has a story that will run in Saturday's paper:
When word of CubeSpace's plight hit Twitter, dozens of laments went up immediately and Portland's twittizens went to work brainstorming ways to save the business. In a little more than three hours, fans had contributed nearly $2,000 dollars in donations, with hundreds more pledged in support. It's a remarkable gesture on behalf of a for-profit business.
And KGW's Stephanie Stricklen is working to get the US Bank side of the story:
What's more, folks from every edge of Twitter are working to spread the word with #savecubespace.
Without CubeSpace, I'd argue that the Portland startup tech community wouldn't be where it is today. What might not have happened. BarCamp Portland, WordCamp Portland, Side Project to Startup, Open Source Bridge, Silicon Florist Lunch 2.0, and hundreds of user group meetings.
So what can you do. Read the posts, donate if you feel inclined, and please stay tuned for additional information. I'll do my best to keep you posted.

För Viagra Online
I'm quite fond of saying that Portland is the de facto hub of OpenID development För viagra online, . And it's days like today that make me sound like I actually know what I'm talking about.
Google (maybe you've heard of them?) has just announced two new enhancements to the Google OpenID API, För viagra online. And it just so happens that Portland-based JanRain and their RPX solution have come to play a critical role in the announcement: they're one of the first examples of the new features in use.
För viagra online, The new popup style UI, which implements the OpenID User Interface Extension Specification, is designed to streamline the federated login experience for users. Specifically, it's designed to ensure that the context of the Relying Party website is always available and visible, even in the extreme case where a confused user closes the Google approval window. JanRain, a provider of OpenID solutions, is an early adopter of the new API, and already offers it as part of their RPX product, För viagra online. As demonstrated by UserVoice using JanRain's RPX, the initial step on the sign-in page of the Relying Party website is identical to that of the "full page" version, and does not require any changes in the Relying Party UI.
Not only is this great news for JanRain, it's great news for OpenID in general, as they continue to make strides to make the use of the technology more and more user friendly.
According to David Recordon of the OpenID Foundation:
För viagra online, User experience continues to be one of our key priorities for the community and foundation this year, and progress like seeing Google and JanRain ship the first implementation of the OpenID popup flow is demonstrating that we’ve been able to seize the momentum coming into this year and make real progress in a short period of time.
JanRain working to quickly incorporate these features is sure to help.
If you're interested in testing the new popup, just contact JanRain:
Immediate mode and the extended Google data fields are now live for every RPX based site. If you are interested in testing out the Google popup support, please email us at support@rpxnow.com, För viagra online. Following a short testing period the popup will be automatically turned on for all RPX customers.
For more on this announcement, see the Google post on the OpenID API or JanRain's post on incorporating the new features into RPX.

Cialis U.k
[Full disclosure: I am on the volunteer committee helping to organize Open Source Bridge.]
Cialis u.k, As many of you know, OSCON will be held in San Jose, this year. And RailsConf will be in Las Vegas. That left Portland---arguably the de facto hub of all things open source-y---strangely devoid of a major open source conference until Linux Plumbers Conference in September, cialis u.k.
And that just didn't seem right. So Audrey Eschright and Selena Deckelmann decided to do something about it Cialis u.k, . And they got a bunch of other volunteers together who wanted to help. That became Open Source Bridge, cialis u.k.
You see, if there’s one thing I love about Portland, it’s our entrepreneurial spirit. Cialis u.k, We weren’t just going to sit around and cry in our microbrewed beers about it. We Portlanders are going to figure out how to do something else. We’ll show them, cialis u.k.And true to form, here’s Open Source Bridge, a new grassroots-organized open-source-developer-oriented conference that’s slated to be held in Portland, next summer.
Fast forward to today and that dream has officially become a reality. Registration is now open for Open Source Bridge Cialis u.k, .
Costs. You can attend the three-day conference---June 17-19---for $175. But you have to act quickly. That early bird rate expires on April 1. And if you're coming from out of town---heck if you're coming from Beaverton---you can get a room at the Hilton for $139/night.
Why would you stay at the Hilton. Four words my friend. Well, actually one number and three words: 24-hour hacker lounge.
Personally, it's been an incredible experience, thus far, working with the amazing people volunteering to pull this off. Open Source Bridge is a different kind of conference. And it's yet another incredible event that's going to put Portland on the map.
Different how. It's about open source culture for developers. It's about being open source citizens:
We’re planning a conference that will connect developers across projects, across languages, across backgrounds to learn from each other. We want people to experience something beyond “how to use tool X” or “why databases keel over when you do Y” (even though those topics are important, making up our tools and trade, and will be a central part of the conference content). We’d like to share what open source means to us, what it offers, where we struggle, and why we do this day in and day out, even when we’re not paid for it.
Hopefully, you'll put up with me continuing to blather on about it. Because I think it's yet another example of the Portland community doing things in a very Portland-y way and---as usual---wildly succeeding.
I'm hoping to see you there.

Today, the Foundation announced its new officers. And while Kveton has moved into the role of vice-chair, I'm happy to report that Brian Kissell of Portland-based JanRain has been elected chair of the organization, women does sildenafil citrate work.

Paypal Viagra
Paypal viagra, We here in Portland, Oregon, like to think of our town as the de facto hub of open source and open web technologies. I mean, Linus Torvalds lives around here, so does Ward Cunningham.
And, that's not all, paypal viagra. We've got the OpenID contingent with Vidoop and JanRain, too. Paypal viagra, What's more, Portland is home to a bunch of cool open source shops and developers. Oh, and don't forget, we used to host RailsConf, too.
But there's one little get-together that causes our collective open source head to swell ever so slightly, paypal viagra. And that event is just around the corner.
OSCON 2008 Paypal viagra, , the premiere open source conference, will be again gracing Portland with its presence, beginning July 21. And with it, thousands of open source types will be descending upon town. No doubt, many of them will be wondering, "What the heck am I supposed to do when I'm not in sessions?"
Have no fear, open source aficionado, paypal viagra. There are a few activities with which you can keep yourself entertained, a handful of establishments where you can slake your thirst, and a joint or two where you can get your fill of vittles. Paypal viagra, As you're planning your trip to Portland, here are some links that might help:

Sildenafil Citrate Cartoon
Sildenafil citrate cartoon, Oh boy. He's on that OpenID soapbox again.
Look, sildenafil citrate cartoon. You're in Portland. Sildenafil citrate cartoon, Arguably the de facto hub of OpenID. So it happens. The OpenID soapbox is literally right here, sildenafil citrate cartoon. I can jump on it at practically any time. Sildenafil citrate cartoon, So yes, I'm talking about OpenID, again.
But this time, I think even the staunchest critics will find the discussion interesting. Because it solves a very common complaint, sildenafil citrate cartoon.
You see, once you get past initial objections surrounding OpenID and the "we should push the value, not the technology" discussion---once you get into actually trying to convince people to use OpenID as a form of credential for online services---one criticism tends to pop up time and time again...
Sildenafil citrate cartoon, Why is OpenID a url. Why can't OpenID be an email address?
Why does this complaint come up so much. Because email passes the "mom 'n' pop" test. As in mom 'n' pop are growing increasingly comfortable with the idea of having an email address. They "get it." And they're far more comfortable managing that type of address than they are managing a url.
Long story short, email seems easier to grasp.
And we've been so conditioned to plug an email address into the "username" box, that it's almost becoming second nature.
So the conversation always, always, always comes around to "What if logging in with OpenID were as easy as logging in using your email address?"
If only. If only someone, somewhere could put some of the leading minds together with some brilliant developers and get this thing figured out. I mean, maybe like Chris Messina and Will Norris. Maybe get Scott Kveton and Scott Blomquist in there. And that Michael Richardson is a pretty sharp developer.
I mean, if someone could manage to put a team like that together... I'm sorry. What. Really. Really? Vidoop. They all work for Vidoop. Oh. Well. That would probably explain this then....
Enter Email to ID, a new service from the folks at Portland-based Vidoop. (And yes, this is the thing they'll be demoing at Beer and Blog this evening.)
How does Email to ID work?
The concept is simple. And congruent with current OpenID logins.
One box. One credential to enter. The basic difference being that you're using an email address instead of url.
So how do you validate that you are who you say you are. Well, there are a couple of ways.
If you don't have know that you already have an OpenID, you can just use your email address and Email to ID will create an OpenID association for you.
The first time you sign into a new site, Email to ID will send a validation code to that email account. (Much in the same way CAN-SPAM encourages people to confirm their membership on email lists.) Using the code, you can validate that the email address is, in fact, yours and that you are who you say you are.
If you're already a typical OpenID user, you can associate your existing OpenID(s) and relying parties with an email address. This allows you to use the inherent security features of your relying party instead of having to check your inbox every time you want log into a new site.
Technically, what's Email to ID doing?
Okay. I can see you geekily salivating over there. But I'm not going to try to explain it. Instead, I'll let the people doing the work explain that:
Emailtoid is a simply a mapping service - we take a GET request to our mapper ( eg, http://emailtoid.net/mapper?email=jane@example.com ) and return an HTTP redirect (a 302) to an OpenID. If the email address is not in our system, we create an OpenID account for the user on the fly. The user logs into the OpenID account by verifying his or her email address through a one time URL or confirmation code sent to that email address. The RP (relying party, the site that originally sent the request) then has the user returned to it.
Get it. Good. Explain it to me sometime.
All I care about is that it works. And it does. Quite gracefully. And that is technology as it should be.
So is OpenID "mainstream" now?
I don't know that making OpenID mainstream should even be a goal. But I do know that making services and technologies more useful to the general populous should.
"Basically, OpenID is great, it's a wonderful technology, but it can be a bit confusing to the end users," said Richardson, lead developer for Email to ID. "Users are already trained to use email as an identifier, so this bridges the gap between email and OpenID.
"Ideally, this service will go away as all top level domains will implement their own mapping. But until that time, we provide a way for sites to have people to use OpenID through their email address. The barrier of entry into OpenID is significantly lower."
Conceptually, this service marks a huge step forward for "bending the OpenID technology to the needs of the common user." And as such, it could definitely be one avenue for introducing a new way of logging-in to a wider group of people.
But, whether the term or concept "OpenID" needs to travel along with that form of credentialing is still a matter of debate.
To paraphrase something that Kveton, who in addition to efforts at Vidoop happens to chair of the OpenID Foundation, often says, "My mom doesn't says she's going to go establish an SMTP connection. She says she's going to go check her email." Or to put it another way, "Sell the sizzle, not the steak---or Gardenburger, as the case may be."
Make no mistake, this is progress for OpenID and its potential. And progress very much in the right direction for a very fledgling technology with a number of benefits.
I, for one, feel that---with Email to ID---one of the major gripes against OpenID is now a thing of the past.
And that means, it's time to attack the next one. What's next.
For more information or to set up your own email-based OpenID, visit Email to ID. Interested in implementing this service. See the Email to ID developers area and follow Email to ID on Get Satisfaction. Of course, if you're lucky enough to be in Portland, today, swing on by Beer and Blog to talk to Email to ID developer Michael Richardson about this new service.

Buy Cialis No Prescription
Buy cialis no prescription, Much has been said about you as a user being able to use your data more intelligently---making your data portable---among Web 2.0 properties and social networks. But what about all of that data you're creating---and own---on the corporate side of the firewall. How do we make that type of data portable, buy cialis no prescription.
Well, Portland-based Jive Software may be well on the path to answering that question with today's announcement that Jive has joined the Data Portability Project. Buy cialis no prescription, "The benefits of data portability are not confined to consumer social networks," said Matt Tucker, CTO, Jive. "Corporate users maintain profiles behind the firewall as well as in external communities and third party platforms, and the ability to simply and securely migrate that information as necessary will be a boon to the IT organizations of tomorrow."
I hear you. "Data port-uh-what?" Let's step back, buy cialis no prescription.
What is Data Portability?
According to the Data Portability Project, "Data Portability is the option to use your personal data between trusted applications and vendors."
Heretofore, those "applications and vendors" have dealt with data that resided in the public space with companies like Digg, Drupal, Facebook, Flickr (and by association Yahoo!), Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Netvibes, Plaxo, Six Apart, Corvallis-based Strands, and Twitter. Buy cialis no prescription, Porting the data relies on standardized and publicly accessible means of transferring that data from service to service, which enables one service to "listen" to another service or "scrape" the data from an existing profile.
To accomplish this, a number of open standards, formats, microformats, and protocols have been established. These include APML, FOAF, hCard, OAuth, OpenID, OPML, RDF, RSS, SIOC, the XHTML Friends Network (XFN), XRI, and XDI, buy cialis no prescription.
Okay, I can feel your eyes rolling back in your head. Buy cialis no prescription, Enough alphabet soup.
What's the big deal about Jive, a corporate-side technology, joining a group of the cool kids on the social networking scene.
So what?
In my opinion, Jive's decision to become the first corporate-side technology company to adopt this standard is momentous and game changing.
Why. Because it shakes the very foundation of what businesses think they own.
Today, most any of you on the corporate side of the firewall have signed some form of agreement. It could be a "noncompete" or simply a contract for employment. If you're an exempt employee, it's generally pretty strict in terms of what the company owns.
And generally, most companies will take the opportunity to cast a wide net over your work---claiming the company owns the intellectual property for anything you create while you're employed by the company.
Anything.
That means your IM, your email, your time on Facebook, your tweets, your voice mail, your iTunes playlist... All corporate property.
Seems a bit at odds with the way things are going, doesn't it.
And as more and more of the "Web 2.0-esque" technologies find their way behind the corporate firewall, it's going to seem even more and more wrong.
Even today, we're beginning to see glimmers of the data we're generating in public beginning to mesh with the type of data we're generating at work. (LinkedIn anyone?)
The burgeoning workforce who lives and breathes in this brave new world will expect that the data they create is data they own and can move. And this is at direct odds with what the old school corporation thinks that the business should own.
It's not going to be a pretty battle. But with this announcement, Jive is taking a step in the right direction---siding with the future instead of the past.
So what will enterprise data portability entail?
Honestly, it's going to take a little while to figure that out. But Jive has started the ball rolling.
Jive's latest high-profile hire, Gia Lyons, a former IBMer, understands the depth of this undertaking:
Think about all the bits and pieces of your worklife, strewn about all those different systems: HR systems, skills databases, LDAP directories, employee whitepages, LinkedIn, etc. Wouldn't it be great if you could manage all that personal data from a single spot. It can live where it lives – I would call it data transparency, though, not data portability. This can already be accomplished by using data mapping tools in market today, but it takes some serious customization muscles to pull off, not to mention many lunches and cocktails to woo the czars in charge of all of those internal systems so they play nice.
And Jive CMO Sam Lawrence has grand plans for where this enterprise data portability might have the chance to go:
In the meantime, we’re interested in working with the Data Portability group to help contribute to these standards as well as new ones as well. Hopefully, the organization is now at a point in its evolution to proceed with formal and elected leadership, a standards body, voting process and the rest of the stuff that makes organizations successful.
Again, a vast project with which to grapple, but one whose time has potentially come.
It will be interesting to see where this one goes, and to see watch Portland's role blossom---as the de facto hub of open source and as a growing proponent of open standards---in this new way of thinking about who owns what.

Cheapest Sildenafil Citrate
It's no surprise that Portland is rapidly becoming one of the de facto hubs for OpenID Cheapest sildenafil citrate, evangelism and development.
Scott Kveton, the chairman of the OpenID Foundation now calls Portland home. Portland-based JanRain is a leading force in the OpenID development effort and new Portland-transplant Vidoop is also coming on strong, cheapest sildenafil citrate. If Beer and Blog is any indication, we're all interested in getting more use out of OpenID on our blogs. And having the opportunity to sit down with David Recordon Cheapest sildenafil citrate, , the vice chair of the OpenID Foundation, is something that's appealing to quite a number of us.
And while the big companies that we often encounter one way or another---Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft, and AOL---have all claimed to jump into the OpenID pool, Michael Arrington of TechCrunch is beginning to wonder if this isn't all a bunch of OpenID lip service. Or to put it bluntly: Are the bigs all hat and no cattle, cheapest sildenafil citrate.
The problem, though, is that the Big Four Internet companies that I mentioned above have made big press announcements about their support for OpenID, but haven’t done enough to actually implement it. Cheapest sildenafil citrate, Microsoft has done absolutely nothing, even though Bill Gates announced their support over a year ago. Google has limited its support to Blogger, where it is both an Issuing and Relying party. Yahoo and AOL are Issuing parties only.
This is a tenuous position at best, cheapest sildenafil citrate. For as much ground as we can cover from a grassroots perspective, it's going to be exceedingly difficult to get anyone---beyond early adopters---to take on OpenID without the support of some of these bigger entities. Cheapest sildenafil citrate, Without the bigs, there is no OpenID tipping point.
But the funny thing---not funny "ha ha," but funny "sad"---is that all of these gigantic companies are struggling with one very similar issue that would be partially---if not completely---solved by an effective implementation of OpenID: bringing acquisitions under a common login credential.
Yahoo. throws its acquirees' respective user bases into turmoil every time it asks them to move over to a Yahoo. ID. Google takes years in its struggles to get everyone on the Google credential system. Microsoft and AOL are no different.
To me, it seems obvious that OpenID could solve this issue, now and for the foreseeable future. And I can't be the only one seeing that.
As hard as it may be for them to accept it, the bigs need to move away from their proprietary credentialing structures. They need to embrace concepts like OpenID and OAuth for what they can do to solve their problems, today.
In short, they need to let go and let OpenID.
For now, the jury is still out on when and how the big company momentum will fall behind OpenID in terms of something more than spin and lip service. But let's hope that day is soon approaching. For all of our sakes.
I can tell you one thing: from a grassroots level, Portland is sure to be leading the charge. And we're not going to slowing our OpenID fandom anytime soon.
