Description
The Application Support Analyst is a full-time, onsite position responsible for first-tier application support, handling the initial research, troubleshooting and resolution of customer problems and issues. This individual may also be asked to handle production or project support as needed, including HTML coding, data uploads or image uploads/ formatting.
The successful candidate is technology-literate, loves detective work, relentlessly pursues the full answer and is able to see the connection between different pieces of software or technology components. This candidate must be able to convey difficult concepts in terms that a non-technical user can understand.
The Application Support Analyst must also have exceptional customer service and organizational skills, and be able to handle multiple priorities and responsibilities. Finally, applicants must also be self-directed, able to learn independently, and possess good time and task management skills.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor customer communication channels for support requests; promptly and professionally acknowledge all new requests
• Prioritize requests and provide direct customer support, troubleshooting and maintenance. Escalate or assign to colleagues as needed
• Support inbound production requests/provide project support where needed
• Proactively perform QA as needed, ensuring that applications perform as expected
Requirements:
• BS or equivalent technical training and professional work experience
• 2-3 years of recent technical customer service experience
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Enjoys high interrupt work, and is able to multi-task, establish priorities, and meet tight deadlines
• Solid grasp of HTML and CSS; knowledge of standard web technologies, including application servers, web servers, relational databases, browsers, etc
• Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills
• The preferred candidate will also be familiar with Linux-based web site development (e.g. Apache, MySQL, Python, PHP, Zope).
