The New Group is recruiting an experienced web developer with Drupal chops. Sound like fun?

Let’s talk about you.
You make cross-browser websites that render on anything from bleeding edge HTML5 engines to a VT102 terminal. You write beautiful code that’s accessible and standards-based. Your pages almost never have any validation errors because you didn’t write any. You might not like IE6, but you know how to make it do all sorts of modern tricks. You also know and love content management systems, particularly Drupal and WordPress, and are adept at both architecting sites and filling in with custom modules, and theme development. Source control is old hat to you. You have a broad base of development skills across a variety of languages, but are deep in PHP.

You really like JavaScript and jQuery, and are excited about the possibilities of HTML5.

You’re equally comfortable tackling a project solo, or working with a larger development team on projects. You comment your code, and you might even document it once in awhile.

You are an excellent communicator, friendly, social, and don’t fit traditional “programmer” stereotypes. You love working in a team and aren’t shy about asking for or giving help.

You have a working vocabulary of science fiction and internet culture.

You’ve got:
• 5+ years in an web developer position, preferably 2+ years in a senior or lead role
• Deep knowledge of web development technologies and standards, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, XML, AJAX, SQL, and PHP.
• Broad knowledge of other development technologies, such as Flash, ASP/ASP.NET, ColdFusion, Rails, Java, etc
• Maybe even some mobile development skills, either web or apps
• Experience architecting, developing, and theming large Drupal sites (required!)
• A level of comfort working across our strategic and creative departments to represent the technical portion of a project to ensure we create beautiful, highly functional solutions
• A great personal workflow that allows you to both give accurate estimates for your work and also meet them
• Agency or development shop background required
