Description
You'll be writing the software that our customers use thousands of times a day. When people think of New Relic, they think of our main RPM product; when you think of RPM, you think about the user's total experience. You can code views (with their HTML, CSS and Javascript) but you know that the real key to high performance web apps is in the data model, hence you are totally comfortable digging into the models and presenters, the underlying SQL, and even the Rails framework. If it's a way to create a better, faster, user experience, you're into it!
To be considered seriously, you will have built and deployed commercial RoR applications and experience with commercial scale software architectures. You'll have a BS in Computer Science or something related and experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
Barely two years old, New Relic has already reshaped its marketplace and is growing quickly. People who succeed at New Relic have a sense of urgency, a lot of initiative, a commitment to customer success, an enthusiasm about pushing the edge … and a sense of humor. We provide interesting work, a great product, new things to learn, and the freedom to do your work the way only you can do it.
Our office is in downtown Portland, centrally located amongst the vibrant food cart culture. We are on the MAX green-yellow line and two blocks from the blue-red line. And we provide competitive compensation (including pre-IPO stock options) and big-company benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life, etc), while maintaining the energy, agility and fun atmosphere of a start-up.
New Relic is most decidedly an equal opportunity employer. We seek applicants of diverse background and hire without regard to race, color, gender, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, disability, age, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by law.
