DigitalTrends.com is looking to build out a small WordPress development team. We are specifically looking for a senior level WordPress developer who has experience creating and modifying plug-ins, is familiar with WordPress core, and can create/modify themes with performance and scalability in mind.

This is not a design or front-end developer position.

You must have the following experiences:
- Expertise in developing, debugging, and performance tuning WordPress plug-ins, core and themes.
- Have knowledge and experience working around and possibly patching WordPress core.
- Expert knowledge of HTML/XHTML, JavaScript, and CSS
- Expertise with AJAX and JavaScript frameworks like JQuery
- Expertise with database design, optimizations and SQL
- Experience with XML
- Experience with the APIs from the latest social networks like Facebook and Twitter
- Experience with installing, configuring and deploying to a LAMP stack.
- Experience using GIT or SVN

- Communicative, patient, and clear under tight deadlines

- Can work with others on the team or contractors to complete projects.
- Have a desire to innovate and love to take on challenges with an open mind
- Are a PHP Developer first and foremost, and understand the intricacies of WordPress like the back of your hand.

DigitalTrends is an online magazine that covers consumer electronics, creating original content such as reviews, guides, and videos.

Our office is in downtown Portland in the US Bank tower. We are a small, fun-loving group of individuals who firmly believe in “Work hard, play hard” motto. It’s not unusual to have a session of DoW near the end of the day.

We would prefer that the position is an in-office position here in Portland, OR and would pay for re-location.
