This role requires senior level experience with network, server, and storage systems. You will be responsible for project management and documentation as well as technical implementation. You should be accountable, diligent, determined, focused, and fun to work with!
Please note that candidates will be required to take a technical test.
Primary Skills / Experience Required:
* 5+ years of experience with Enterprise Networks, Server, and Storage systems
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Self-motivated, passion for doing things well the first time
* Microsoft server technologies (Windows, Active Directory, Exchange)
* IP Networking with Cisco and/or Brocade switches and routers
* VMware ESX in production environments
Secondary Skills / Experience Desired:
* Enterprise servers (HP Proliant, Dell PowerEdge)
* Management and monitoring tools such as SysLog, Solar Winds Orion, SNMP, Cacti, Netflow
* Alternative operating systems such as Linux and Macintosh
* Current technical certifications a major plus (Microsoft, Cisco, Apple, HP, Brocade, etc.)
* PowerShell, VB, or other shell scripting would be a major plus
Core Responsibilities:
* Constantly improve and innovate – we love to think outside the box
* Teach as well learn from your teammates
* Manage project deliverables, resources, and timelines
* Evaluate technology and prepare proposals for adoption
* Plan, install, configure, and maintain network equipment including (but not limited to) servers, virtual environments, SAN, NAS, switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers
* Monitor and troubleshoot network, server, and application performance issues
* Create detailed documentation and diagrams
* Write scripts and develop other time-saving tools to enable automation and quality improvements
* Participate in an on-call rotation that provides 24/7 emergency support
* Occasionally travel to remote offices for projects as needed (up to 10% travel)
* Continue to learn and obtain technical certifications regularly (1-2 per year)
Working Conditions:
* The position is located in downtown Portland. Relocation assistance not available with this position.
* The job involves extensive time working at a computer.
* Incumbent must pass background check.
* Candidates will be required to take a technical test.
