Janrain, the leader in online User Management solutions, is growing its sales team and seeking Account Manager to add further potential to our already accelerated growth. Fueled by expanding social networks and the desire for websites to tap these vast online communities, the Janrain Sales Team has plenty of opportunity and is adding sales professionals with the track record and desire to contribute to building a world-class SaaS company.

This Account Manager role requires a tenacious, intelligent salesperson that can take a strategic approach to customer satisfaction for our largest existing customers. Account Managers will be responsible for the successful implementation and ongoing usefulness and value our products bring to our customer’s business. A focus on tuning the user presentation and promotions customers deploy around the use of Janrain JUMP platform products. Identifying additional customer requirements and presenting other Janrain services will be key areas of responsibility. Renewing customers for additional terms is the third revenue producing activity for Account Managers at Janrain.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that is biased to action and has prior experience selling SaaS solutions to medium and large commercial web enterprises. This position is ideal for someone with experience with social media applications or selling web infrastructure solutions. Prior experience in account management and “farming” activities is essential.

This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a dynamic and promising early stage growth company with products and services that enable websites to gain significant benefits by enhancing their user engagement and measurement. The flagship product, Janrain Engage, allows websites to register and log-in their visitors with their ID from Facebook, Google, Yahoo!, Twitter, MySpace, AOL, Hotmail, Windows Live ID or other OpenID accounts. These sites then import rich user profile data and address books, and publish user activity back to multiple social networks, driving additional traffic. Very few websites are NOT interested in these services. Additional Janrain products and services provide customers with a complete user management solution, from registration to publishing, from custom ID solutions to user profile database solutions.

Responsibilities
* Source and close new business from existing Janrain customers to regularly meet and exceed monthly sales goals
* Build an intimate understanding of Janrain's products, their place in the industry, and the technical terms used by customers in combination with those products.
* Make regular calls to current customers to discover new requirements and present new Janrain product functionality.
* Develop case studies with the top customers in conjunction with Marketing Department
* All activities to qualify, document and communicate with all customers is documented in salesforce.com.
* Develop and execute account strategies with Janrain customers.
* Leverage current implementations to expand Janrain usage within large networked web properties.
* Always deliver the highest level of customer service.
* Keep daily records of calls and information requests sent through extensive use of Salesforce.com.
* Maintain current knowledge of industry as well as the competitive posture of the company.
* Contribute to the overall sales strategy and share successes.

Requirements
* 3+ years online media experience in a sales/commission/quota-based role
* Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
* Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written)
* Strong grasp of fundamentals of social media, online advertising, cloud and emerging technology
* Strong attention to detail and ability to QA own work
* Professional proposal prep skills
* Tenacity and ability to think on your feet
* Excellent research/lead generation skills
* Proven track record of reaching and exceeding sales revenue goals
* Ability to effectively manage time, reach decision-makers and quickly determine opportunity potential
* Interest in technology and the ability to explain complex concepts in everyday terms
* Ability to move fast and thrive in a dynamic, quickly-changing environment
* The drive to close more contracts than are needed to beat quota every month.
