We are an exciting new mobile startup headquartered in the heart of Portland, Oregon! We are currently seeking an experienced marketing professional to help pioneer the release of a new form of location-based social networking. This individual with create marketing strategy and oversee beta-through-launch campaign execution, develop and manage product messaging, website, app store content, mobile and online advertising campaigns and relationships with app discovery sites.

We are targeting a marketer who is tech savvy and willing to work with an ambitious team marketing a mobile application that is cutting edge. Our application will tested and released to college-age mobile users on and around Northwest and West Coast University campuses. The right candidate must be a hands-on self starter able to work independently and with teams as necessary. Our application focuses largely on social networking and will include a location based advertising spec in the near future.

In addition to marketing our mobile application, excellent client service skills are also a must. We are a rapidly growing, fast-paced environment and are a great fit if you thrive in this type of setting!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, candidates must have expertise and proficiency with the
following:
Run marketing function for company, developing marketing strategy/plans, execute, and oversee marketing plans from pre-beta to full release of application.
Work closely with small executive team to develop company and product strategy based on marketing’s deep understanding of the customer base.
Develop a strong understanding of app users, why they use the app, the emotional experiences that they have with the products and what motivates them to share the app.
Oversee user and market research, developing market segments for the app’s users and then creating effective and efficient marketing strategies for reaching groups of users.
Develop strong relationships with app users via in app messaging, email and on the ground promotions.
Create processes for listening to customers’ experiences with the app, then crafting marketing messages and working with product management to quickly incorporate feedback into product release cycles.
Lead phases of concept, design and production for a range of mobile, online and social advertising initiatives.
Develop and tune viral marketing methods to distribute the app and optimize conversion on viral channels.
Run mobile advertising campaigns on iAds and other mobile ad networks to develop the app brand and acquire customers.
Build display advertising, paid search, SEO and email marketing capabilities of the company.
Run social media marketing campaigns including Facebook Ads, display campaigns across other social media sites and Twitter marketing campaigns including promoted tweets.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
7+ years relevant experience (desired)
Cutting edge mobile app experience marketing to consumers and oversee distribution via app stores and app discovery sites.
Experience developing marketing strategies and implementing marketing plans in both start up environments and major consumer Internet companies.
Expertise in online and mobile analytics, developing metrics for app usage, customer acquisition and social web experiences.
Must have experience marketing innovative forms of user experiences online that required educating customers about new form of online and mobile user experiences.
Track record of working with highly viral products with responsibility for viral tuning, landing page, development and conversion optimization.
Strong understanding of mobile entertainment and online entertainment products and services.
Experience managing PR function, either as part of own staff or managing external agency.
Capable of prioritizing, delegating, and working effectively as part of a start up team.

COMPENSATION:
Annual compensation range for this position is based upon candidate’s experience and qualifications Possibility of a benefits plan which may include annual performance-based bonus, paid company holidays and paid time off.
