Description
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Marketing (85% of time)
* Brainstorming, implementing, evaluating, and measuring creative promotions and marketing strategies (primarily online) drive customer acquisition.
* Developing and implementing a comprehensive social media strategy, including monitoring/managing related accounts.
* With the founding and product team, helping define our brand and messaging with key constituencies in an environment of uncertainty and continuous iteration.
* Creating editorial content for social media, our blog, and email newsletters.
* Planning campaigns & logistics for tradeshows & events (SXSW) on tight budgets, where creativity is essential.
* Conducting market research with customers and potential customer segments to understand market opportunities, value drivers, and competitive positioning.
Office Managment (15% of time)
* Helping to respond to general phone/email inquiries.
* Responsible for scanning and keeping up-to-date digital archive of corporate and legal documents/contracts.
* General ordering of supplies (business cards, etc).
* Help the founders with occaisional travel and other logistics as needed.
YOUR SKILLS:
Must haves:
* Excellent communication skills - from written to spoken word. No slam poets please.
* Thrive in a startup environment i.e. you’re happy to work independently in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects.
* A "go get 'em" attitude - no task is too big (or too small).
* A curious nature, keen on testing and learning from data and experience.
* Know how to stretch a budget (household budgeting experience counts too).
* At least 2 years previous online marketing, PR or meaningful brand-building experience (including social media), preferably with a technology bent.
Nice to have:
* Previous PR successes/press placements and pre-existing relationships from pitching journalists and bloggers
* Email marketing fu (Mailchimp, Emma etc)
Triple word score secret level extra bonus points:
* Kickass A/B testing experience
* Google and website analytics mastery
* Demonstable event marketing experience
