FoodTrekker.com is a new kind of foodie website that meets several conspicuous needs in the marketplace. For independent food and drink businesses, it serves as a lead generation & marketing platform (chain businesses are banned). For consumers, FoodTrekker offers a wealth of food and drink content (well beyond mere restaurant listings). It’s visually appealing, easy to use and fun. Many things make our business model unique, from proprietary technology and an innovative sales methodology, to synergy with the International Culinary Tourism Association with its global connections and fantastic media reputation. We’re positioning FoodTrekker as a global brand that will revolutionize the $9 billion food and drink publishing industry. We’ve soft launched for Portland and are looking for a senior developer and technology strategist to join our team to help us take the business to the next level. As a member of the senior management team, you will help make key decisions that will drive the business forward. You’ll need to be as comfortable working with management as you are with your developers. You’ll also need strong project management skills (preferably Agile) and a respect for business process. You need excellent experience with PHP application frameworks, HTML5; CSS3; MySQL; JQuery and third party API integrations. We’re open to discussing other new web technologies you love that will further place FoodTrekker in a class by itself. We’re looking for a hard worker who is happy to jump in and do whatever it takes to deliver work on time.

This position isn’t for everyone. First, you need to be the kind of person who wants to get out of the rat race and be an active contributor to a forward-thinking and fun organization with a bright and lucrative future. You’ll be part of the founding team and as such, compensation is equity only while we complete required sprints so we can prove traction to investors. Once funding is secured, all team members will receive a salary. We’re open to discussing transition scenarios that could let you work in another job until FoodTrekker can pay you a salary.
