WebMD Health Services is looking for an experienced software developer to help create our next generation of web-based health management applications. As a member of the Product Development team, you will work side-by-side with testers, data architects, UI designers, product owners and other developers to deliver robust, highly-usable, software solutions with the scalability to serve our rapidly growing private-portal business. An ideal candidate has prior experience working cross-functionally using Scrum or XP methodology.

This is a six month contract position with the possibility of an extension.

Major Responsibilities
• Elaborate product requirements and define acceptance criteria with team
• Estimate tasks using planning poker to facilitate iteration planning
• Implement test fixtures, acceptance tests, and unit tests to drive development
• Implement software making appropriate use of software design patterns and best practices
• Demonstrate shippable quality code to achieve story acceptance
• Make effective use of daily stand-ups, iteration planning meetings, and retrospectives
• Collaborate informally with others to solve problems and produce results

Education
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

Experience
• 6+ years software development experience
• Prior experience with Windows, C#/.NET, and SQL
• Prior experience developing large-scale web-based systems a plus
• Prior experience working on a Scrum or XP team preferred

Skills & Certification
• Proficient in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design
• Strong familiarity with industry-standard software design patterns
• Familiarity with TDD and ATDD
• Independent time management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication
