The mission of this job is to help Elemental perfect the media experience by completing new products and features of superior quality on a fast-track schedule, and collaborate effectively as a trusted member of a driven, innovative team.

As a Software Engineer III, you will:
• Own the process of taking new products and product features through the entire development cycle - from inception, through QA, to delivery and approval by the customer
• Provide highly responsive technical assistance to the customer support team, translating customer requests into functional code
• Work closely with the entire team to complete release cycles
• Work directly with our partners on the implementation of new features

The successful implementation of this position requires, at a minimum:
• 5 years of professional software development experience
• Fluency in C/C++ on Windows and Linux
• Prior experience developing high-performance, multi-threaded, system-level software
• Ability to travel domestically on occasion

Additional strengths include experience with:
• Developing cloud-based software on Amazon EC2
• Audio and video codecs
• SQL, Ruby or Ruby on Rails
• Open source video tools and APIs, such as FFMPEG or mediainfo
• Developing software for distributed or clustered systems
