Software Test Manager

The role of the Software Test Manager is to plan and direct test cycles for Elemental’s media processing products. This includes coordinating a team of test engineers and organizing the equipment and resources they need in order to deliver projects on schedule. The Software Test Manager will coordinate with Marketing, Development and Systems Engineering on deliverables, timelines and milestones for releases, as well as make key decisions on verification processes, methods and tools.

As a Software Test Manager, you will:
•Successfully lead testing for 2 releases within the first 6 months, then 2-3 releases per quarter
•Direct the team to ensure test coverage, issue tracking and defect resolution for each release
•Coordinate and track deliverables for multiple simultaneous projects
•Effectively apply Elemental’s methodology and enforce project standards
•Spend at least 10% of your time hands-on testing the product

The successful implementation of this position requires, at a minimum:
•BS in a math, science or engineering discipline
•5+ years of test and/or development management experience, leading teams of 5-10 people
•Prior experience defining and enforcing test and/or development processes
•Solid understanding of Linux command line, and scripting languages such Perl or PHP

Additional strengths include experience with:
•Developing complex automated build/test systems
•Audio and video compression standards and tools
•Open source video tools such as VLC, FFMPEG or mediainfo
•REST APIs and XML
