# Grabb.it releases microblogging feature

Portland-based [Grabb.it](http://grabb.it "Grabb.it") has announced the release of a [new microblogging feature ](http://twitter.com/jchris/statuses/223390742 "Grabb.it microblogging")for its users.

Following the lead of services like [Twitter](http://twitter.com "Twitter"), [Jaiku](http://jaiku.com "Jaiku"), and [Pownce](http://pownce.com "Pownce"), the new Grabb.it feature allows users to post short messages (less than 140 characters) and provides a feed to which others can subscribe. [An example can be found here](http://grabb.it/users/jchris "JChris on Grabb.it").

The recent development efforts—like the [iPhone interface](http://siliconflorist.com/2007/08/16/grabbit-releases-incredibly-cool-interface-for-iphone/ "Grabb.it for iPhone")—have led to a growth spurt for Grabb.it, [forcing them to have deal with (welcome) growing pains](http://twitter.com/atduskgreg/statuses/223166302 "Grabb.it growing pains").
