# Portland Web 2.0 startups get some love from Oregon Business Magazine

[![Oregon Business Magazine features Toonlet et al](https://i0.wp.com/siliconflorist.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/imgobm200807.jpg?w=925)](http://www.oregonbusiness.com/.docs/_sid/c70bbfc9ac8a26aa64a51e7d1ef4fb69/action/detail/rid/33241/pg/10003 "Oregon Business Magazine features Toonlet et al")One of the reasons I started [Silicon Florist](http://siliconflorist.com "Silicon Florist") was to use my marketing powers for good, by casting the spotlight on “Portland Web 2.0 startups” and individuals who have been developing really, really cool things here in the Silicon Forest. But who, through sheer lack of time, may not have the opportunity or wherewithal to promote themselves as much as they would like.

I’m happy to report that a number of those companies just got a much brighter spotlight shone on them, thanks to [Oregon Business Magazine](http://oregonbusiness.com "Oregon Business")‘s cover story this month “[10 Coolest Tech Startups You’ve Never Heard Of](http://www.oregonbusiness.com/.docs/_sid/c70bbfc9ac8a26aa64a51e7d1ef4fb69/action/detail/rid/33241/pg/10003 "10 Coolest Tech Startups You've Never Heard Of").”

Among the Silicon Florist alumni featured are:

- [Toonlet](http://toonlet.com "toonlet")

- [JanRain](http://janrain.com "janRain") ([myOpenID](http://myopenid.com "MyOpenID"), [pibb](http://pibb.com "Pibb"))
- [WeoGeo](http://weogeo.com "WeoGeo")
- [Iterasi](http://iterasi.com "iterasi")
- [LUNARR](http://lunarr.com "LUNARR")
- [OsoEco](http://osoeco.com "OsoEco")
- [NetworthIQ ](http://networthiq.com "NetworthIQ") (now part of [Strands](http://strands.com "Strands"))
- [Grabb.it](http://grabb.it "Grabb.it") ([Silicon Florist’s first post](http://siliconflorist.com/2007/08/09/grabbit/ "Silicon Florist post numero uno"))
- [Walker Tracker](http://walkertracker.com "Walker Tracker")
- [Urban Drinks](http://urbandrinks.com "Urban Drinks")

[Gone Raw](http://goneraw.com "Gone Raw") and [Lumeno.us](http://lumeno.us "Lumeno.us")—two sites I haven’t yet had the chance to cover except via mentions in the [Portland Startup Index](http://siliconflorist.com/2008/06/17/portland-start-up-index-for-june-2008-some-movement-for-the-same-list/ "Portland Startup Index")—made it as well.

Congratulations to all of those featured for stepping on to a much larger stage! I’ll look forward to continuing to cover your progress and highlighting your wins.
