Yes, yes. I’ve been helping with the Open Source Bridge stuff as much as I can. I mean, I’m not an open source guy, per se, apart from my ever deepening appreciation for the talented people who make the world of open source what it is.
When it comes right down to it, I’m an observer. And, from time to time, an extremely lucky participant. A respectful tourist in the world of open source citizens.
But every once in awhile, I get to contribute. Today was one of those days.
Countless hours of volunteer effort and speaker submissions and community feedback have resulted in the list of confirmed Open Source Bridge talks.
I realize I’m a little close to the situation, but the breadth of the topics—and the open source and open web rock stars who took the time to submit talks—simply floors me.

Whether you’re a true geek or simply an observer like me, take a few minutes to comb through the selected talks. I’m sure you’re find at least 10 topics you’d like to see.
My favorites so far? Assholes are killing your project with Donnie Berkholz, Ask Forgiveness not Permission with Emma McGrattan, and Social network supermarkets and how to defeat them with Chris Messina. Not to mention all of the awesome Portland and Silicon Forest people who are giving talks.
When OSCON decided to leave Portland last year, I couldn’t have been more disappointed. Now, I feel entirely different. This has really given the Portland open source community a chance to shine, in their own right.
I, for one, can’t wait for June.
