# Verso-tile: The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW) gains a Portland-based Mac fanatic

There are tons of great blogs around the Silicon Forest. And, by extension, that means we have a bunch of great bloggers. So it stands to reason that, every once in a while, one of those bloggers makes the leap from the farm leagues to the big show.

The latest to make the jump? [Kelly “Verso” Guimont](http://twitter.com/verso "Kelly Verso Guimont"), who just got the call to [join The Unofficial Apple Weblog](http://www.tuaw.com/2009/04/24/introductory-post-new-blogger-kelly-guimont/ "Kelly Guimont joins The Unofficial Apple Weblog")—affectionately known as [TUAW](http://twitter.com/TUAW "TUAW on Twitter")—as a new writer.

TUAW is one of the [most popular blogs for Mac and iPhone geeking](http://blogsearch.google.com/blogsearch?q=best%20mac%20iphone%20blogs&sourceid=mozilla2&oe=utf-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wb "Best Mac and iPhone blogs") and it tends to be a great resource for early peeks at upcoming technology—not to mention a great place to go for tips.

For the record, she’s more than qualified to discuss all things [Apple](http://apple.com "Apple"):

> I’ve been a Macintosh user in some form or another since very early on (I drew with a turtle and don’t understand versions of Oregon Trail that are anything but green), and I’m currently Leopard Certified. I live in Portland, Oregon, which is a great place to be a Mac Geek since we have three Apple retail stores and loads of Mac places besides. My current setup is a Unibody MacBook and an iPhone 3G, but I still get some mileage out of my 80gb iPod and I still have a PowerBook G4 and a blueberry iMac DV around in case I need them—you never know!
