# Calling all Silicon Forest startups: Chat with The Oregonian at noon today

It’s no secret that one of the many reasons I started Silicon Florist was to get more people interested in what you’re doing.

Yes you, you silly goose.

You’re inventing incredibly cool stuff. You’re bending Web and mobile technology to your will. You’re taking risks. And you’re trying to build companies that will help Oregon and the Silicon Forest thrive.

As a follow up to the [Portland startup scene article](http://siliconflorist.com/2009/05/02/oregonian-features-number-small-portland-startups-tech-entrepreneurs-defy-recession/ "Oregonian features a number of small Portland startups") that he published this weekend, [Mike Rogoway](http://twitter.com/rogoway "Mike Rogoway") will be holding a [chat session to continue the conversation about Portland area startups and entrepreneurship in Oregon](http://www.coveritlive.com/index.php?option=com_altcaster&task=siteviewaltcast&altcast_code=b5c8ba469c "Log in to The Oregonian chat on startups").

I’d really like to see you there. Because your insight is vital. Maybe you love the startup scene. Maybe you think the startups around here are [one of the things that makes Portland suck](http://thingsaboutportlandthatsuck.wordpress.com/ "Things about Portland that suck"). Maybe you think that most people just don’t get it. Maybe you’re building a [new kind of conference](http://opensourcebridge.org "Open Source Bridge"). Maybe you think we should be paying less attention to Portland and more attention to startups in other Silicon Forest cities and towns. Maybe you’ve just got a hankering for the [Strange Love Live](http://strangelovelive.com "Strange Love Live") chat room, midweek.

Maybe, just maybe, I should cease and desist with the “Maybe…” statements.

But hopefully, you get my point.
