# If you can’t bring BlogHer to Portland, bring Portland to BlogHer

Last year, we mounted a heartfelt yet unsuccessful [attempt to woo BlogHer, the premier event for women bloggers, to Portland](http://siliconflorist.com/2008/08/05/blogher-09-to-be-held-in-portland-oregon/ "BlogHer ‘09 to be held in Portland, Oregon"). While we lost due to an all-too-common Portland drawback—no hotel capable of housing all attendees—there are no hard feelings.

Really. And just to prove it, there are a whole bunch of attendees from Oregon headed to Chicago, this week.

I thought—after being inspired by an [OurPDX post by A L Venable](http://ourpdx.com/2009/07/absence-makes-the-heart-grow-fonder-right/ "Absence makes the heart grow fonder")—that it might be wise to round up all the Portland bloggers who are headed to [BlogHer](http://blogher.com "BlogHer"). Just so we all know.

This list is by no means comprehensive, so if I’ve missed in your name in my scatter-dash research, please, by all means, comment with your name and blog and I’ll add you:

### [Asha Dornfest](http://parenthacks.com "Parent Hacks")

### [Katherine Gray](http://twitter.com/thiskat "Katherine Gray")

### [Kerri Anne Ladish](http://www.kerrianne.org/ "Kerrianne")

### [Melissa Lion](http://www.melissalion.com/ "Melissa Lion")

### [Angela LoSasso](http://twitter.com/AngelaAtHp "Angela LoSasso")

### [Kaleigha Martin](http://krameymartin.blogspot.com "Kaleigha Martin")

### [Kathryn Martini](http://recoveringstraightgirl.com/ "Recovering Straight Girl")

### [Gina Rau](http://www.changebecomeschange.com/ "Change Becomes Change")

### [Jessica Spiegel](http://twitter.com/italylogue "Jessica Spiegel")

### [A L Venable](http://www.dimpleandasmirk.com/ "A L Venable")

### [Rhiannon West](http://rhiinpink.com/blog/ "Rhi in Pink")

And if you’re from somewhere else in the Silicon Forest? Add your name and blog to the comments, too. I’ll make sure to link you up.

Because, as we all know, one of the most random and interesting occurrences of heading to conferences out of town is getting the chance to meet people who live in your own backyard.

Not literally. I mean, you probably know the person living in your backyard. But you get what I’m saying. I hope.

And here’s hoping this list helps some of you BlogHer attendees make some local connections that you otherwise may have missed.

For more information on the conference, visit [BlogHer](http://www.blogher.com/blogher_conference/conf "BlogHer Conference").
