# Taptu times two: Sponsoring Beer and Blog and an iPhone focus group

While [Taptu](http://taptu.com "Taptu")—makers of some impressive search functionality for the iPhone platform—may be headquartered across the big pond, their community manager, [Jason Harris](http://twitter.com/harrisja "Jason Harris"), lives right here in the Silicon Forest. So we’ve got a connection—I mean, besides that prevailing Portland love of all things iPhone.

And this Friday, we’ll have even more of a connection to Taptu. You see, they’re going to be hosting a focus group in which you might be interested. Better yet? They’re going to buy you a beer at [Beer and Blog](http://beerandblog.com "Beer and Blog"). And nothing makes friends quite like free beer.

First, the serious stuff. [Taptu will be hosting a compensated focus group in Portland](http://techcraver.com/2009/10/09/have-an-opinion-get-paid-to-share-it-seeking-participants-for-iphoneipod-app-focus-group/ "Have An Opinion? Get Paid To Share It! Seeking Participants For iPhone iPod App Focus Group") designed to gather feedback on their iPhone / iPod Touch app.

> Ideally, we’re looking for more casual iPod Touch or iPhone users who interact with their phone by using a few apps and who know how to download and install apps on their fun little Apple portable device(s).

If you qualify and are accepted, you’ll get a cash stipend for your time.

Not interested in testing but still interested in something free? How about a free beer? Taptu will be hosting [Beer and Blog Portland](http://portland.beerandblog.com "Beer and Blog Portland") this week. And to celebrate, they’ll be buying you a beer.

Although, given the weather, you might want to negotiate for a hot toddy of some sort.
