# memePDX 2009 recap: If you only watch one podcast in 2009, watch this one

It was August 2009. I had just wrapped up an episode of [Strange Love Live](http://strangelovelive.com "Strange Love Live") celebrating the[ second birthday of this here blog](http://strangelovelive.com/?p=677 "Rick Turoczy and the tiara of truth"). I think I was still even sitting on that now iconic couch when [Dr. Normal](http://twitter.com/drnormal "Dr. Normal") piped up.

“You should do a podcast,” he said.

“I tried,” I replied. “It sucked.”

“No, you should do a podcast from here,” he said. “And here’s the catch: [Cami Kaos](http://twitter.com/camikaos "Cami Kaos") will be your co-host.”

I think at that point I may have sat there in stunned silence for a while. Before meekishly mumbling, “Okay?”

And so [memePDX](http://twitter.com/memepdx "memePDX") was born.

And every Thursday since then? You’ve had a new episode to watch. Now, we’re about 18 episodes into it. And still going strong. Even after [livestreaming for 30 straight hours together](http://30hourday.org/ "30 hour day").

I’m not getting to get all mushy. But honestly? I love this podcast. It’s only 20 minutes—even though it takes a lot longer than that to produce it—but I have to say that I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve done. And I couldn’t be more honored that Cami Kaos and Dr. Normal take the time each week to help pull it together.

So we chopped up a little highlight reel to celebrate the end of the year.

Enjoy! We’ll see you in 2010. Like first thing. On [Strange Love Live on January 1, 2010](http://strangelovelive.com/?p=974 "Strange Love Live on January 1, 2010"). If you’re going to watch one podcast in 2010, I’d recommend that one.
