# REMINDER: InnoTech and the SoMe Awards are Thursday. It’s not too late to attend… for free.

It’s starting Portland. Our usual packed summer of [tech events](http://siliconflorist.com/2010/04/23/summer-filling-calendar-big-portland-tech-events/ "Filling your summer with tech events") and [camps](http://siliconflorist.com/2010/04/27/portland-code-camp-sql-saturday-free-portland-tech-events-taste-great/ "CodeCamp and SQL Saturday") that bring even more awesome people into town to share their ideas and concepts with the awesome people—like you—who call Portland home.

And every year, one of the first events out of the gates is [InnoTech](http://www.innotechconference.com/pdx/ "InnoTech Portland Oregon"), the premier technology event for business folks in the Portland area. Thinking about going? Well you better get on that. It starts tomorrow, May 6.

And just who will you see at InnoTech? Well, let’s see. You’ll get to listen to hear from local favorites like Raven Zachary (@ravenme) on iPad development and Dawn Foster (@geekygirldawn) on the MeeGo open source mobile platform. But you’ll also get leading thinkers from outside the area like Noora Guldemond (@metaioUS) on Augmented Reality and Futurist David Smith on where software is going.

Plus, you won’t want to miss the debate between Raven and Jason Grigsby (@grigs) on building native mobile apps versus building Web-based mobile apps. It’s sure to be a heated—and entertaining—discussion that could influence how you develop that app—or apps—you’ve been considering.

Finalists are vying for a number of awards.
