REMINDER: InnoTech and the SoMe Awards are Thursday. It’s not too late to attend… for free.

And every year, one of the first events out of the gates is InnoTech, the premier technology event for business folks in the Portland area.

It’s starting Portland. Our usual packed summer of tech events and camps that bring even more awesome people into town to share their ideas and concepts with the awesome people—like you—who call Portland home.

And every year, one of the first events out of the gates is InnoTech, the premier technology event for business folks in the Portland area. Thinking about going? Well you better get on that. It starts tomorrow, May 6.

In one focused day, InnoTech Oregon creates an environment where education, innovation, peer-to-peer networking and the latest technology and business solutions are all available specifically for business and technology professionals.

And just who will you see at InnoTech? Well, let’s see. You’ll get to listen to hear from local favorites like Raven Zachary (@ravenme) on iPad development and Dawn Foster (@geekygirldawn) on the MeeGo open source mobile platform. But you’ll also get leading thinkers from outside the area like Noora Guldemond (@metaioUS) on Augmented Reality and Futurist David Smith on where software is going.

Plus, you won’t want to miss the debate between Raven and Jason Grigsby (@grigs) on building native mobile apps versus building Web-based mobile apps. It’s sure to be a heated—and entertaining—discussion that could influence how you develop that app—or apps—you’ve been considering.

Can’t make it during the day?

Well, then maybe you should consider swinging by the SoMe Awards (@someawards), an event designed to recognize excellence in social media. Finalists are vying for a number of awards. And they’re sure to roll out the red carpet at the Multnomah Athletic Club for you. Festivities start around 7 PM.

For more information on the conference, visit InnoTech. Or if you’re sold, you can register for tomorrow’s sessions right now. How much? Well, the first 10 folks to register with the code FLORIST get in absolutely free. And if you miss that, I may know another code that could get you into the event for free. For more information on the awards show, visit the SoMe Awards.
