# New Relic Will Be Our Lunch 2.0 Host for August

While Rick [soldiers through a very long day](http://siliconflorist.com/2010/07/01/30-hour-day-quiet-parts-week/), a [30 hour one](http://30hourday.org/) to be exact, the staff here must pick up the slack. So, here goes.

[New Relic](http://www.newrelic.com) will be our gracious Lunch 2.o hosts on August 18, 2010.

Not familiar with them? They are a San Francisco-based startup, funded by Benchmark Capital and Trinity Ventures, that just so happens to have a satellite office here in the Rose City.

They provide cloud-based tools to monitor, optimize and troubleshoot Java, Ruby and JRuby web applications, including some you might have heard of like Highrise and Basecamp.

That’s right, [37Signals uses New Relic RPM](http://www.newrelic.com/press-release-20080710.html). So do [AboutUs](http://aboutus.org) and a whole mess of other [customers](http://www.newrelic.com/customers.html).

Oh, and they’re [hiring in Portland](http://www.newrelic.com/jobs.html).

New Relic may be a first-time host, but Bjorn Freeman Benson isn’t. While at the [Eclipse Foundation](http://www.eclipse.org/), he [hosted a Lunch 2.0](http://siliconflorist.com/2008/11/06/lunch-20-at-eclipse-foundation-mission-accomplished/) way back in November 2008.

Let’s hope this Lunch 2.0 doesn’t feature rain, like that one did. Although, the way things are going, that’s not a gimme by any stretch of the imagination.
