# Turkey Tracker 2010: It’s not a geeky Portland Thanksgiving without streaming video, an Arduino, Twitter, and some geogeeking

For many people, things are starting to slow down as Thanksgiving approaches. But for others? Things are just heating up. Literally.

Yes folks, it is once again that time to turn our eyes toward Portland’s own [Turkey Tracker](http://turkeytracker.com "Turkey Tracker"), the Internet phenomenon that lets you and yours track turkey temperature and preparation in real time. Why? Because they can.

As always, Turkey Tracker 2010 features the usual [Arduino](http://www.arduino.cc/ "Arduino") enabled thermometer and real-time tracking of turkey temperatures. And live video. And live graphing. And photos. But this year, it also comes with some additional technology trimmings.

Like what? Well, like [livestreaming video via iPhone](http://turkeytracker.com/#&panel1-2 "Turkey Tracker livestream") so that you can get even closer to the action. Still not enough? Well, you can participate. How? By [uploading photos](http://turkeytracker.com/#&panel1-4 "Upload photos to Turkey Tracker") to the [awesome Turkey Tracker map](http://turkeytracker.com/#&panel1-3 "Turkey Tracker photo map"), a mashup of photos and geolocation, created by none other than [Adam DuVander](http://twitter.com/adamd), [geogeek extraordinaire](http://siliconflorist.com/2010/08/17/paperbacking-portland-geogeeking-adam-duvander-releases-map-scripting-101/ "Paperbacking Portland geogeeking: Adam DuVander releases Map Scripting 101"). And yes, have no fear turkey trackers, it does feature Adam’s namesake custom icons.
