Welcome 2011 with Lunch 2.0 at Urban Airship

[HTML1]And we’re back.

It’s been months of silence since we had lunch at City Hall, complete with a Mayor (@mayorsamadams) sighting, and apparently, some of you actually miss little old Lunch 2.0.

The good news is we have a host for January; I was just waiting to announce it until you were finished with your holiday fussing.

So, without further ado, Urban Airship (@urbanairship) cordially invites you to lunch at their place in Old Town (Update: Turns out the office is actually in the Pearl, see comments for background on the geographical correction) for lunch and light networking on Wednesday, January 26, 2011.

If you read here, you’ll know at least a little about Urban Airship, one of Portland’s white-hot mobile startups. Having recently closed a round of venture funding and moved to spacious, new offices in the Pearl at 11th and Flanders, formerly occupied by Ziba Design, they are excited to throw open their doors and have you all over for lunch.

Incidentally, if you’re into the whole mobile thing, that same building also houses fellow mobile startup Cloud Four (@cloudfour), so perhaps they can be torn away from their desks to rub elbows with you.

So, rejoice and make sure to RSVP on Upcoming.

Upcoming Portland Lunch 2.0s

Stay tuned for an April announcement. Otherwise, if you’re interested or know someone who might be interested in hosting a Lunch 2.0, drop a comment, hit me up on Twitter (@jkuramot), or find me at a Lunch 2.0, if you want to chat IRL.

Want to know what’s involved? Check out the how-to primer.

Big thanks to all the hosts who have hosted or plan to host Lunch 2.0. As with the majority of the tech events in Portland, sponsors make them happen. So, we humbly thank you.

  1. @ Sasha: Thanks for the clarification, updated the post.

  2. As a UA employee as well as the Chair of OTCTNA I can say with authority that this lunch is most definitely in the Pearl District, not Old Town Chinatown 🙂

  3. @ Jason: I can’t wait to see Cloud Four people “in the wild”.

@ Faddah: Thanks be to Urban Airship. Make sure to let them know how excited you are 🙂

  4. thanx, jake! thanx, rick! thanx urban airship! yay! a new year, a new lunch 2.0! looking forward to it.

  5. We keep everyone chained to their desks. Feel free to come downstairs and visit the caged animals. 😉

  6. Take that up with Turoczy and Rogoway. I thought it was Old Town too, but both their posts say it’s the Pearl. Just mindlessly following the natives.

  7. Not to be pedantic (oh, hell, who am I kidding) but since when has “Old Town” expanded to include a location smack-dab in the middle of the Pearl?
