# How cool are you? Nominations for the TechAmerica Oregon TechAwards Cool Product of the Year are now open

\[HTML1\]Now, I know. You’re not building what you’re building to go out and seek awards. But let’s be honest. What you’re doing? It’s pretty damn cool. And people deserve to know about it.

So why not take a chance with the folks from [TechAmerica Oregon](http://www.techamerica.org/oregon "TechAmerica Oregon") and nominate your product as the [Oregon TechAwards](http://www.oregontechnologyawards.com "Oregon TechAwards") “Cool Product of the Year”? You can, you know? Right now.

What is a Cool Product, exactly? Well, it’s perfect for you. No really. I mean it. Just listen.

> Presented to the company that has developed, and/or introduced a cool product some time in the most recent 18 months, and had a significant demonstrable success in the past 12 months. The product can be a hardware, software or technology-service product, which is innovative, and has created significant new opportunity for the company. The Cool Product of the Year will be voted on live at the ceremony using innovative voting technology.

See? I told you.

Well, and you have to be building this thing in Oregon or southwest Washington.

Oh. One more thing. You know, usually, it’s not the Web, mobile, or open source type startups who take the stage for winning this one. I mean, they’re cool products and all. But not as cool as what you’re doing. I’d rather see you up there.

Think you’ve got what it takes to make it to the stage? Want to nominate someone who deserves a shot? Well, [you can nominate potential cool products until February 4, 2011](http://www.oregontechnologyawards.com/nominate/ "Oregon Technology Awards Nominations"). There is no fee to nominate products.
