# PDC, SAO, OEN… Yahtzee! Local organizations celebrate Portland startups and entrepreneurs

There’s something interesting happening in the Portland startup scene. Um. Well duh. That’s about the most platitudinal tripe I could have thrown out there. Who am I talking to? You know that. You see it day in and day out.

But, unfortunately, not everyone does. And that’s why an alphabet soup of organizations—the [Portland Development Commission (PDC)](http://www.pdc.us/ "Portland Development Commission (PDC)"), the [Software Association of Oregon (SAO)](http://www.sao.org/ "Software Association of Oregon (SAO)"), and the [Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN)](http://oen.org/ "Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN)")—are co-hosting a gathering to celebrate startups, this Thursday.

> Join the Portland Development Commission, the Software Association of Oregon and the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network to celebrate recent startup success, innovative initiatives and the opportunity to network with entrepreneurs and mentors.

> @Large Films in Portland’s Central Eastside will be hosting with food and drinks provided by Sizzle Pie, Bull Run Distilling and Breakside Brewing.

You know what would be awesome? Well lots of things.

But one thing that would be awesome is if you folks—the startups and entrepreneurs who are really making things happen—were to make a strong showing there at the event. To show what’s truly happening in the Portland startup scene. And to get a real picture of the number of people involved. That would be really telling.

Plus, of course, there’s free beer. And apparently distilled beverages as well.

Oh, so now you’re interested? No matter. Just come on down. [See you at 5:30, this Thursday, at At Large Films](http://calagator.org/events/1250461471 "Startup:PDX").
