# Feel like hacking some Portland municipal data, this weekend? Well boy howdy are you in luck

It’s no secret that the [City of Portland has opened up some of its data](http://civicapps.org/ "CivicApps") to allow developers to hack around and build interesting things that use that data. But just hacking on that stuff all by your lonesome isn’t always that fun. That’s why there are regular hackathons to get people together to hack together on Portland’s open data.

Sound like fun? Good. Because there’s an [Open Data Hackathon this weekend](http://calagator.org/events/1250461592 "Open Data Hackathon"), hosted by [Geoloqi](http://caseorganic.com/blog/2011/11/geoloqi-hackathon-at-upstart-labs-friday-nov-18-2011-saturday-nov-19-2011/ "Geoloqi Open Data Hackathon at Upstart Labs Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 – Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011!").

> It’s time for a location-based hackathon! Come hack on open gov datasets and Geoloqi! We moved into an new office space!

> We’ll have food and drinks, and plenty of interesting things to discuss and work on. The new office has two war rooms for planning and plenty of space for hacking and discussion.
