# One’s a crowd: Portland’s Crowd Factory acquired by Marketo

You may not have heard of [Crowd Factory](http://www.crowdfactory.com/ "Crowd Factory"), a Portland startup focused on social media campaign management, but I’m sure you’ve heard of their clients. They’re working with companies like HBO, Coors, Sony, PR Newswire, and Jive.

And with a list of clients like that, it isn’t surprising to report that [Crowd Factory has been acquired](http://pages2.marketo.com/social-marketing-automation.html "Marketo Acquires Crowd Factory to Ignite a New Era of Social Marketing Automation").

[According to ClickZ](http://www.clickz.com/clickz/news/2168765/marketo-acquires-crowd-factory "Marketo Acquires Crowd Factory"), Crowd Factory is around 20 people. No word on what happens to the Portland office. Marketo is headquartered in San Mateo, California.
