# Portland tech startups receive recognition at OEN Tom Holce Entrepreneurship Awards

This evening, entrepreneurs statewide gathered to celebrate the entrepreneurial achievements of their peers and colleagues. And I’m happy to report that the Portland tech startup scene made a fine showing.

Early stage Web and mobile tech startups had a decided presence at the event—unlike previous years where hardware and other pursuits took center stage.

Here’s how some of our favorites fared:

- [Scott Kveton](http://twitter.com/kveton "Scott Kveton") of [Urban Airship](http://urbanairship.com "Urban Airship") was recognized for “Individual Achievement”
- [VendScreen](http://vendscreen.com "VendScreen") walked away with the “Development Stage” category award, with [Portland Seed Fund](http://portlandseedfund.com "Portland Seed Fund") alum [4-Tell](http://www.4-tell.com/ "4-Tell") and current Portland Seed Fund company [Tellagence](http://www.tellagence.com/ "Tellagence") garnering “finalist” nods
- [Act-On Software](http://www.act-on.com/ "Act-On Software") won the “Working Capital Stage” category with [Jama Software](http://www.jamasoftware.com/ "Jama Software") receiving a “finalist” mention
- [Elemental Technologies](http://www.elementaltechnologies.com/ "Elemental Technologies") was recognized as a finalist for the “Growth Stage Company” category

“OEN is pleased to recognize both the finalists as well as the winners, all of whom embody the principles of Tom Holce and the OEN entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to cultivate, nurture and develop emerging local business,” said Linda Weston, OEN’s president and executive director. “In our 19th year of the awards gala, I’m amazed at the talent and service that fills one room. We look forward to doing it all again next year and celebrating the next generation of startups.”
