# Startup Communities makes another Boulder-Portland connection

Many of us in the startup scene keep an eye on Boulder, Colorado. As a town, they’ve done an amazing job of cultivating, attracting, and retaining startups that gives them arguably the highest entrepreneurial density anywhere in the world.

And at the core of this development is a venture capital firm called [Foundry Group](http://foundrygroup.com "Foundry Group"). Even if you don’t follow Boulder, you may recognize the name. Given that Foundry has put money into local startups [Urban Airship](http://urbanairship.com "Urban Airship") and [Cloudability](http://cloudability.com "Cloudability").

One of the best things about the folks at Foundry is their willingness to share their knowledge. This resulted in things like the [TechStars](http://techstars.com "TechStars") program.
