Picture this: Josh Friedman signs on as CEO of GigaPan Systems

Sometimes you found companies. Sometimes you join a company that’s poised for success. The latter is the case today as serial entrepreneur Josh Friedman takes the helm of GigaPan Systems.

According to The Oregonian:

Friedman says one of his major initiatives will be to build revenue and find new clients as well as deepen existing relationships, including the company’s connections to sports teams. Friedman envisions a scenario in which every major sports team uses the GigaPan system, for example.

Josh has been a fixture of the Portland startup scene renaissance. Early in his career he cofounded Eleven Wireless. He cofounded the most successful coworking space in Portland, NedSpace. His concept for using municipal dollars to fund startup activity became the Portland Seed Fund. And most recently, he served as COO for Rumblefish.

“Building on our record growth from 2012, the company sought out a new CEO to help us reach the next level. Josh’s knowledge and background make him an excellent match for GigaPan,” said Henry Hillman Jr., founder and chairman of GigaPan. “His extensive experience leading fast-growing companies will be invaluable as GigaPan continues to expand its presence into new markets. With Josh leading our team, I am confident we will continue to be pioneers in the high-resolution imaging industry.”

GigaPan gives experienced and novice photographers the technology to create high-resolution panorama images more easily than ever before, and the resulting GigaPan images offer viewers a new, unique perspective on the world.

GigaPan offers the first solution for shooting, viewing and exploring high-resolution panoramic images in a single system: EPIC series of robotic camera mounts capture photos using almost any digital camera; GigaPan Stitch Software automatically combines the thousands of images taken into a single image; and GigaPan.com enables the unique mega-high resolution viewing experience.
