# Get your Early Bird Special: Portland Startup Weekend back in April

[Portland Startup Weekend](http://portland.startupweekend.org/ "Startup Weekend Portland") is back the weekend of April 26-28. Note: Rick’s going to be a judge, so it might not hurt to start tweeting compliments about how amazing he is at “half assing.” things 😉

If you’re new to the idea of Startup Weekend, you can think of it as “build a startup in 54 hours, with awesome peeps, little sleep, and a ton of fun”. IMO, it’s a the best way to take the plunge and experience the insane highs (and lows) of launching a startup.
