It’s no secret that I have a bit of a good natured rivalry with our friends at GeekWire. Emerald City vs Rose City, Sounders vs Timbers… you get the drift. And I can’t think of any better way to stir things up than to put a few Portland companies on stage during their GeekWire Awards ceremony, next week.
And here’s where you come in on these hijinx: You can help. Voting is open for the finalists. And if you put a few votes behind Portland types, there’s a very real chance that they’ll wind up on stage accepting the honors.
Here are your opportunities:
- Chirpify is up for Innovation of the Year
- Elemental Technologies‘ Sam Blackman is up for Startup CEO of the Year
- Urban Airship is up for Next Tech Titan
Interested in doing more than voting? Well, you can attend as well. And we just heard that one of our favorite Seattle investors, Chris DeVore—who has invested in a few Portland companies—will be keynoting the event.
So get on that. Or both of those things. Or whatever.
Voting ends tonight.
