# Portland startup cribs: Tech Town Portland video showcases offices, employees, and culture of 11 tech companies

You know me. I’m a sucker for an awesome video montage. And when it’s a video about Portland and its startups, I can’t help but get a little giddy. That’s why I’m super happy to share the Tech Town Portland piece that was just released, this evening.

The short film—based on an original concept by Elemental cofounder and CEO Sam Blackman—takes viewers flying through the impressive tech offices (mostly startups) here in town. And it’s an impressive piece of work by [Uncage the Soul Productions](http://www.uncagethesoul.com/ "Uncage the Soul Productions").

But even more impressive than the visual effects—which are pretty impressive and include a [bit of unmanned drone aerial acrobatics](http://www.oregonlive.com/silicon-forest/index.ssf/2013/05/portland_startups_showcase_the.html "Portland startups showcase their best in glossy video, hoping to lure more to the city")—is the simple fact that this piece [showcases the collaborative and collegial nature of the Portland startup and tech scene](http://www.bizjournals.com/portland/morning_call/2013/05/portlands-got-tech-talent.html "Portland's got tech talent: Big hitters launch collaborative").

And the willingness to work with groups like [Business Oregon](http://www.oregon4biz.com/ "Business Oregon"), the [Portland Development Commission](http://pdc.us "Portland Development Commission"), and the [Technology Association of Oregon](http://www.techoregon.org/ "Technology Association of Oregon") to pull this off.

All told, 11 Portland area companies participated in the video.

I know, I know. It’s a little early for box office predictions. But I’ve got to say that I, for one, am already looking forward to the sequel.
