# Something to like: Former Facebook general counsel joins Portland friendly investors Founders Co-op

It’s no secret that a lot of the capital powering the Portland startup scene comes from outside of town. And one of the earliest supporters—both in terms of this generation of startups and when they invest—has been Seattle’s [Founders Co-op](http://www.founderscoop.com/ "Founders Co-op"). And now, they’ve got another investor joining their ranks: [former Facebook general counsel Rudy Gadre is now a general partner](http://www.geekwire.com/2013/facebook-general-counsel-rudy-gadre-joins-seattle-vc-firm-founders-coop/ "Ex-Facebook general counsel Rudy Gadre joins Seattle VC firm Founder’s Co-op").

> Former Facebook general counsel and ex-Amazon.com attorney Rudy Gadre has quickly established himself as one of the top angel investors in the Pacific Northwest, bankrolling startup companies like Jobaline, Walkscore, Porch, Wire and dozens of others.

> Now, the Seattle super angel—who has been flying solo as an investor for the past few years—is hanging a new shingle. Gadre is joining venture capital firm Founder’s Co-op, joining founders Chris DeVore and Andy Sack as the third general partner.

Founders Co-op’s Portland investments include Urban Airship, AppFog (acquired by CenturyLink), Vadio, and Tindie (before they relocated to the Bay Area).

[Chris DeVore](http://crashdev.com "Chris DeVore"), cofounder and general partner of Founders Co-op, remains very bullish on the Portland startup scene.

“Portland is one of the most exciting startup cities in the country,” said Chris. “I’d love to have even more reasons to be down there.”
