# By women founders, for women founders: Apply to pitch at xCite whiteboard pitch

Like [Stephen Green](https://twitter.com/pdxstepheng "Stephen Green") says, “You’ve got to see it to be it.” Role models. They’re incredibly important. If you don’t have folks with whom you identify, it’s even more difficult to keep fighting the good fight. That’s why I love things like [Portland xFounders](http://xfounderspdx.org/ "Portland xFounders") and their upcoming [xCite whiteboard pitch session](http://xfounderspdx.org/are-you-excited-about-xcite-you-should-be/ "Are you excited about xCite?"). Because it’s specifically designed for to highlight those role models.

If you haven’t heard of Portland xFounders, they describe their organization better than I ever could:

> We are an exclusive round table of women startup founders who live in Portland, Oregon looking for peer mentoring and a safe, confidential space to support and challenge each other. We meet weekly on Wednesdays at 8:30am.

> Membership is by invitation only. You are welcome to apply to Portland xFounders if you identify as a woman in any way that’s meaningful to you.

Sound interesting? Well you should get on stage to pitch. Good news? You don’t need a deck. Bad news? You need to apply by end of day on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend.
