# How healthy would wearing wearables be if wearing wearable were healthy?

Portland’s culture of curiosity had us among the early adopters of the whole “quantified self” thing. But for whatever reason—even though we’ve got a ton of apparel companies in town—that never translated into much in the way of wearable technology. But that doesn’t stop us from wearing those devices. Apple Watches, Fuel Bands, Ups, Fitbits, Misfits. You see them everywhere in the startup community. But what are they doing for us?

That’s a question that Portland’s [Citizen](http://pluscitizen.com/ "Citizen") is exploring. With a panel of experts. And you’re invited.

Join Citizen on Wednesday, May 18, at 5:30PM to hear more about wearables and their impact on our lives.

> Are connected devices making us healthier? Can interaction design guide health behaviors? Our panel of experts will answer these and other important questions about connected health and fitness, and they will provide an inside view of where all this connectivity is going.
