# Get an early look at a new Virtual Reality experience from VectorSpace VR

It’s no secret that Portland—the de facto hub of de facto hubs—is working its way toward landing another “de facto hub” title. With its [pursuits in Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality](https://blog.vertexlabs.co/still-bullish-the-portland-vr-ar-mr-ecosystem-638debdc36fc#.qswd442sf "Still Bullish: The Portland VR/AR/MR Ecosystem"). But sometimes, getting the chance to experience exactly what Portland is quietly building can be a challenge. That’s why I’m always happy when [folks take time to demo what they’re doing](https://www.meetup.com/community-hours/events/235085708/ "Virtual Reality Community Hour[s] at CENTRL Eastside").

And this Thursday, you’ll have the opportunity to try a whole new immersive virtual reality experience. Thanks to the folks at VectorSpace VR.

What’s the experience?

> VectorSpace VR specializes in building large scale, immersive VR exhibits that streamline a myriad of technologies, including: IR motion tracking, Oculus Rift and mini backpack PCs, to create unprecedented experiences.

> We have just installed our first VR system in Chicago for a large haunted house attraction company and look forward to exhibiting this content for Portland’s local tech community.

The folks building the experience have been kind enough to set it up for a special edition of the [Built Oregon](http://builtoregon.com "Built Oregon"), [PIE](http://piepdx.com/ "PIE"), Silicon Florist Community Hour\[s\]. So not only will you have the chance to immerse yourself in some VR, you’ll get the chance to soak in some community, as well.

The event will be held Thursday, October 27, 2016, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at [CENTRL Office](http://centrloffice.com/ "CENTRL Office")‘s new eastside location. (Across NE MLK from [Cup and Bar](http://www.cupandbar.com/ "Cup and Bar") in the new [Slate building.](http://www.beamdevelopment.com/the-slate/ "Slate building")) Refreshments will be provided by CENTRL, as well.

For more information or to RSVP, visit [Community Hour\[s\]](https://www.meetup.com/community-hours/ "Community Hour[s]").
