# Portland Startups Slack reaches 7000 members

While I’m never one for quantity over quality, I do like to take notice when we achieve milestones. No matter how insignificant. With that in mind, I’ve been keeping an eye on the membership of [our free community Slack instance for Portland startups](https://pdxslack.com) as it edged ever closer to 7000 users.

Today, it hit the **7000** **member** mark.





Now granted, no where near all 7000 folks are active on the Slack. But there have been a growing number of folks engaged, as of late. And the Slack tends to have some pretty meaningful discussions on a regular basis. Plus, events like [\#social\_beer](https://www.meetup.com/social_beer/) are bringing those Slack relationships into real life to ensure that the community is getting more connected.
