# Shotsy lands $2 million for weight loss shot tracking app

I always love a startup that’s inspired by a founder’s specific pain point. That’s definitely the case with [Shotsy](https://shotsyapp.com/). An app that serial founder Aja Beckett created for helping her better track her weight loss shots. And given the growing number of folks adopting similar regimens, [VCs are seeing the potential the app has to grow](https://www.businessinsider.com/startup-shotsy-raises-funding-glp1-shot-tracking-app-2025-2).

> Today, that app, Shotsy, has been downloaded over 100,00 times and has reached a revenue run rate of $1 million — a projection of yearly revenue based on current revenue numbers. The app is available to download and use for free and offers additional features that can be accessed through a $19.99 annual subscription. Beckett says the eight-month-old company is profitable.

> Investors are taking notice. Shotsy has raised $2.25 million in seed funding to ramp up marketing and grow its team, the startup tells Business Insider exclusively. [April Underwood](https://archive.ph/o/tHj5V/https://www.businessinsider.com/april-underwoods-journey-to-top-seed-investor-2024-4) of Adverb Ventures led the round, while Coalition Operators, Springbank Collective, and angel investor Esther Dyson participated.

If Aja seems familiar, it’s because you’re probably remembering her previous startup — [Civil](https://siliconflorist.com/2016/01/13/comments-willamette-week-lot-civil/) — which worked to improve online dialogue in comment sections on the web. Or it may be because she also won [Demolicious](https://www.meetup.com/demolicious-portland/) and later took the stage for the [Demolicious Champion of Champions competition](https://siliconflorist.com/2024/11/26/and-the-demolicious-2024-champion-of-champions-title-card-is/), last year. (There’s a [Demolicious tonight](https://www.meetup.com/demolicious-portland/events/305522847/), btw.)

It’s not often that we find successful consumer facing tech in the startup community. Looking forward to watching the journey with this new startup.
