There are any number of programs currently underway to help the folks in Haiti. But there’s one little project that features some Portland types that really caught my eye: Indie Relief. Probably because there are some awesome Portland startups participating in it.
The concept is simple: buy any of these iPhone apps or Mac apps on January 20 and all proceeds will be donated to relief in Haiti.
You know me. I love a good cause. And this one is awesome. But I’m even more excited because there are some Portland apps on the list, as well.
That’s right. My favorite bookmarking tool, Portland-based Pukka, is on there. I also spotted Portland’s PDFpen. Even Portland-based GadgetTrak is there—which could help ensure that no one swipes all these cool new apps you’re going to get.
I’ve sifted through the list a few times. And those are the Portland apps that jumped out at me. Did I miss yours? Feel free to let me know in the comments below. Because you’re doing a really really good thing by participating.
And as far as the rest of you go, please go buy some apps from Portland folks. And some of the other cool apps out there too. Because really. It’s not about buying apps. It’s about supporting Haiti relief efforts.
See? No guilt. We’ve totally justified this whole thing. Now go.
