Whenever someone asks me about the mobile scene in Portland, I always manage to rattle off a number of names of people who are doing some amazing stuff here in town. People who worked on the Obama app, folks who are building apps and powering communications for some of the biggest brands in the world, and people who are pushing the envelope on geolocation.
But for all the mobile awesomeness in town, it’s rare to get a bunch of that talent on one stage. Until now. Next Tuesday, May 24, TiE Oregon has brought a number of those folks together to discuss “Riding the Next Mobile Wave,” Tuesday evening
The mobile industry has been revolutionizing the way we live, communicate and do business, but what is the next wave of mobile software technology? Join entrepreneurs, developers and leading executives to find out about the latest trends and opportunities for entrepreneurs in this ecosystem.
So who’s speaking? Well, a who’s who of the Portland mobile scene:
- Raven Zachary: President of Small Society, working with big brands, established companies, investors, and startups on iOS mobile strategy and product development for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
- Jason Grigsby: founder and organizer of Mobile Portland and co-founder of Cloud Four, a small start-up focused on mobile and web development.
- Amber Case: Co-founder, Geoloqi (a real-time mobile and web platform for securely sharing location data,) and a cyborg anthropologist and user experience designer.
- Aaron Parecki: Co-founder Geoloqi and an iPhone and PHP developer interested in solving practical problems with technology.
- Jose Puthenkulam: Head of Products, TCS Mobility, at Tata Consultancy Services, North America.
The panel will be moderated by Milind Pandit, Technical Director at tenfour.
